Don’t get me wrong, the fact that they came together to decide what was best for the team shows growth and improvement. However, respectfully the team is hypocritical, not only was this a bad time to try to think about the well being of the phoniex program but the fact that they made it seem like they did everything right up until the harbor incident with visi is crazy work. They were so quick to forgive someone who actively tried to kill their boss but disobedience is where they draw the line? Nobody on the team is the poster boy for obedience let alone standards if they had no problem letting someone back on the team for attempted murder then they should not be coming at Robert talking about “standards” when someone goes against there superiors to help someone become a hero again.

I remember thinking back to that one scene in 2005 Fantastic Four where Invisible Woman had to take literally all of her clothes off for no one to see her before she got her uniform. The same applies to Violet from The Incredibles where she needs her super suit to be totally invisible. Why doesn't Invisigal suffer from this same "problem?" Knowing Visi, she's the only one of these three who would willingly walk around naked while invisible.

I don't mean to make this a weird or sexual convo, it's a genuine question.

It’s definitely one of the things that connects them. Two broken people who rode solo most of their lives. I think they are more alike than a lot of people give them credit for. Shit Robert even subtly hints that when talking about the playground convo with Chase. “If i didn’t have you and dad, who knows where i would’ve ended up”.

I think he really emphasizes with Courtney and on a deeper level understands her struggles. Human behavior is a product of the environment they grew up in after all. And without having his Mecha Man legacy to uphold and a purpose to fight for, Robert may have ended up even worse than Courtney since that’s the only thing that anchored him since his father’s death.

Kyle Chandler has been doing character-defining work for Hal Jordan in Lanterns, and if he’s really only signed for this one season and done with the DCU after, then AdHoc should pounce on him for a VA role for Robert’s dad, Robert Robertson II. He’s the perfect actor to hit that balance between charismatic and asshole.

Even if it’s just a cameo for a flashback, it’d be pitch perfect for the character.

One, Robert and Courtney aren't that far apart in age (he's 32, she's 27— only five years apart) despite Robert being a seasoned hero by the time Dispatch takes place.

Two, Hal, on the other hand, has been a hero since as far back as the eighties— longer than either of them have even lived (Kyle Chandler was 59-60 at the time of filming, which lines up with Hal's age in 2026). Hell, DCU!Hal is old enough to be their father.

And considering how similar Hal and Visi are in terms of traits - both of them being loose cannons who don't answer particularly well to authority figures, but contrast in that where one gets the job done, the other… not so much - I can't help but imagine how they'd get along with one another (if at all). Lmao

Because if Hal was annoyed with John - someone who is his polar opposite and (used to) follow orders to a T before he grew out of it - heaven forbid he spends a day with Courtney. 😭
