Rivian needs proof of payment to continue with production?

Ordered July 28, VIN assigned same day. A few days later Delivery Date tentatively scheduled for August 28th.

I've completed everything in the order flow except financing. I've been pre approved but Rivian wants me to upload a photo of the check from my Lender. I can't get the check until I sign the loan (and start accruing interest). The lender says they can turn around a check in a day.

If delivery isn't until next Friday, should I wait until next to sign the loan get the check, or should I do it tomorrow so I can upload the image on the off chance my R2 is sitting there at the SC waiting for me?

R2 Tire Mobility Kit vs Compact Spare

In thirty years of car ownership I’ve had numerous reparable punctures and one irreparable rock through the sidewall.

I’m curious if who has opted for the Tire Mobility Kit in leu of a compact spare. What was the calculus?

It’s time! You’re invited to order

My order window was set as August to September. I'm a first-day reservation holder, reservation placed about two hours after reservations started. No lease and no prior Rivian ownership.

At 7:48 AM Mountain Time, I received an email and text that it was time to place my order.

Within 10 minutes I’d placed my order for Launch edition, Glacier White with 20-inch wheels. Delivery to Idaho is estimated at 4-8 weeks.

Update 1:
VIN was assigned at 10am (low 2100’s).

I’d forgotten to factor in destination fee ($1495) and taxes ($4634 in Idaho) so that was a bummer.

Geico’s rate is a less than half USAA’s rate and almost 1/3rd of the Rivian Insurance rate.

Rivian’s APR is lower than our local credit union that I thought had great rates (5.69 for 72 months)

Update 2:
Delivery date set as August 28th

Challenged my local credit union to beat the rate and the stepped up by half a point.
