AITA group assignment contribution

AITA I (F) am currently doing a group uni assignment and we finished the first draft a couple days ago (each of us completed our sections). We then agreed to go over each other's parts and read over/give feedback. However one group member (M) decides to go and rewrite all my parts and completely cross over all my work but basically only paraphrasing and rewriting everything I have written and researched a) without adding any meaningful contributions and b) giving me any constructive feedback. I know that this person is using chat gpt to make it more concise except it is genuinely the exact same things just in a slightly different sentence format - the thing is the word count is not even going down and that's not his intention rn. This is making me very frustrated because i have not gone and rewritten his entire parts, the most i am doing, is leaving some comments/feedback for some parts whilst I have not received any meaningful feedback on my end. Additionally i feel like my work is not being appreciated at all as none of it is being kept/acknowledged, and i feel as if my work is being completely discredited for no reason at all. This no longer feels like a group effort and more so him taking control and wanting to take credit for all the research and efforts I have done so that he can say he's written and cleaned up the final version. I would have just appreciated if he told me or gave me some feedback on how my parts could be improved and letting me fix it first before going in and just re-doing it. i am feeling really mad about this but i dont know if its justified.

For context, my group member and i are pretty good friends. I am really upset and this has pmo. Do i confront him or what should i do?

EDITS:
For more context: I am not a slacker. I try to contribute fairly by completing my part to the best of my ability, meeting deadlines and communicating well. I am inclined to perform well academically so the issue isn’t that I have slacked off and written a poor, unsubmittable, last min piece of work. I have also not used AI at all in this case to generate nonsense.
Additionally I am a native English speaker whilst he is an international student with an ESL background. There are times where his fluency and writing have not been completely accurate but that is totally ok as it still makes sense and that is understandable - I have corrected his grammar, syntax etc in the past though. So the issue again is not that I have poor, incomprehensible English/writing.

AITA if i confront him and tell him this is not okay.
