Dating after Divorce

I’m a divorced 41-year-old man, professionally established, social, fun-loving, and pretty intentional about life. I communicate well, get along with people, and feel like I’ve done a lot of the work to understand who I am and what I want.
But honestly, I’m curious—what is happening in the dating world right now?
It seems like emotional maturity, intentionality, accountability, and genuine connection have become harder to find. A lot of people say they want something serious, but their actions seem to say, “I just want to have fun, keep my options open, and move on when something slightly better comes along.”
I understand wanting to enjoy life. I understand dating and figuring things out. But what happened to healing, self-reflection, learning from past relationships, knowing what you want, and actually building something with another person?
Social media, endless options, hookup culture, and the idea that someone better is always one swipe away seem to have changed how people approach relationships. Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way.
So I'm genuinely asking—not judging:
Are healthy, intentional relationships really that difficult to find nowadays, or are the people looking for them just looking in the wrong places?
And if you're married, divorced, dating, or happily single, I'd genuinely love to hear your perspective.
Am I tripping, or has dating really changed this much?
