I’ve started noticing this gap lately: CEOs say “record growth” but traffic is flat and hiring is frozen. Anyone else seeing this too?
I’ve started paying more attention to company signals lately instead of relying only on founder interviews, press coverage, or upbeat LinkedIn posts.
Recently looked into a company after their CEO shared a strong growth update publicly. Then I checked a few public indicators.Website traffic estimates looked flat over recent months. No meaningful hiring activity in the last quarter. Employee reviews had turned noticeably more negative. Social engagement was slowing too.
Not saying the company was failing, just that the public narrative and the operating signals didn’t seem fully aligned. It made me realise how much you can learn not only from what companies say, but from what they stop doing.
Anyone else tracking these kinds of contradictions?
