Thoughts on Final Scene Culprit *Spoilers*
I am marathoning the Nancy Drew games & just got done playing the Final Scene, and had some thoughts on the culprit. Also yes, this is me overthinking a children's game, but screw it.
- >!Why does Joseph try to kill Nancy with the light? Assuming it was Joseph who caused the light to fall and it wasn't bad luck.!<
- >!Why does Joseph move the evidence that Maya is in the theater? Isn't the whole point of this kidnapping to stop the demolition? Culprit foils his own plot much?!<
>!I think it would make more sense for the culprit to be Brady and/or Simone in my opinion. Nancy sees Brady after finding Maya in the magicians room and tells him she just found evidence. It would make sense that Brady wants to move that evidence because he doesn't want the demolition stopped and maybe just kidnapped Maya for publicity. It would also make sense he's in the area because he just got done moving her (or helping move her). Another motive could be stopping Maya from conducting that interview and revealing Brady as B. Thompson. I also think Simone/Brady would make the most sense b/c the way Maya is moved around in the game would be impossible for Joseph!<
>!Anyways, yes it's just a game and this might be overthinking. But finishing it today I felt kind of bothered and like the ending didn't totally satisfy me (although this is still one of my favorite games! I love the high stakes and Nancy's sassy dialogue). Anybody else feel similarly? Or have any other fun theories on an alternative culprit?!<
