Are there any games you skip on replay

A few years ago I played all the Nancy Drew games in a one summer long binge, and I really wanna replay them this summer because I basically haven't played them since. Anyway I was wondering if there's any games you guys just skip when replaying the games/refuse to replay, because although I guess I want to give a second chance to the games I didn't like before, I also just.. don't ever want to replay some of them.

I’m 29 today :)

morning at Sandy Hook, NJ had me feeling like I was in Danger on Deception Island :) (man I wishhhh I was in the PNW tho!!) me and my boyfriend looked for horseshoe crabs, found some regular crabs, and watched some snails, fish, and hermit crabs in the water!
my birthday is always so difficult for me. I have a good group of friends, a great family, and a lovely boyfriend but I still feel so alone. I don’t have many people around me that share the same interests and sometimes I feel like an outsider.
while I don’t contribute to this reddit often, it’s given me such a comfort to see other people love and chat about one of my favorite games. I was so excited to feel this way at the beach and was eager to share how I felt with this group :)

Found this really cool wooden jewelry box at Goodwill today. It even has a hidden drawer within a drawer.

A question about The Final Scene basement safe puzzle...

I recently started my first play through of "The Final Scene" and for the first time ever in a Nancy Drew game I had to turn to the internet for help. I interviewed every person, called every number, and even got hints from Bess which I've never had to do lol.

Long story short I knew about the safe puzzle in the basement (and had all the gears in my inventory) but had just assumed that I didn't have the clue or pattern necessary to solve it yet so I backburnered it. I searched everywhere for card suits but didn't see any other than in the "Guess the card" game also located in the basement.

SPOILERS AHEAD

My question is : why are you supposed to set all of the symbols to a spade? Is there a clue to this somewhere? I looked at a couple walkthroughs but none of them mention how this info is found.

I haven't yet finished the game but it seems that I have everything I need to progress smoothly now. This one has a much different vibe than I am used to. A lot more phone calling and interviewing suspects with less puzzles and searching. I like the theater setting, though it does feel a bit small compared to other ND games.

Thanks for your help!

Bonus Ned Texts

I recently found out from this sub that you can play the bonus edition if you access the developer menu. I wanted to get the charmed achievement on Silent Spy so I was replaying and damn does Ned keep texting!!

Here are all the texts he’s sent throughout the game. I keep checking my phone thinking it’s case related and it’s just him. Take the hint Ned. She’s just not that into you.

I forgot all about this

I am now 26 years old, and my mom was going through some of my old things and found my notebook I received in 2011. I forgot this even existed and of course it’s filled with notes for the games lol. ( I marked my name out, for some reason 11 year old me thought I had to write my name on the front 10 times)

Midnight in Salem Saddened Me

I have played the Nancy Games since the wee age of 5 in 2000, gathered around the clunky PC fully engrossed in solving mysteries with my two older sisters.

Flash forward to replaying them all in 2015-2017 on my Mac- Midnight in Salem was being produced and then released in 2019.

First I found out my girl, the OG, was not voice acting anymore and it made me so upset that I didn’t have any sense of online presence for the sheer reason of hyping up the game prior enough for the importance of a known voice actor being well known.

Then this game comes out…. Which for anyone who went through it can hopefully just relate on what a wonky experience it was. It was the entire lead up also- me following the switching of engines and alllll the fuCKING DELAYS AGAHEKFFIHENS

The pro is it lead me to knowing this thread even existed and uniting me with Nancy Drew lovers worldwide. Playing it was saddening after all that on and off lead up. Of course things happen behind the seen but the gameplay was such a letdown I scrubbed it from my mind.

Because of this…. I sadly didn’t realize that a new game came out in 2024???? IM SO EXCITED?? I can only hope the inner company and design issues made it over the hump it had and this will be a better experience for me.

So…. Anyone else as impacted by a computer games release 😂 Did anyone enjoy Salem (I hope someone did)?

Shoutout to all you in this fandom!

P.S. I never knew there was Ned hate? I always liked them together 🤷‍♀️ Can I get more tea on that?
I like that he isn’t that involved, my girl Nancy is independent and gets to decide the kinda relationship she wants (at lease that why it never bothered me). I always want him to pick up the phone but thought it was more of a running gag 😂

P.S.S. I’m playing the Hercule Poirnet games on my Switch and the third installment is the exact kinda 3D oddness but since the previous ones never got the graphics to a point I liked it - it’s less nerving but same exact vibe and mouth movement as MIS. I just started it so that’s probably what lead me into this rant so thanks for reading 😂

Are they still making Nancy Drew games?

Hi everyone :)

I discovered the Nancy Drew series via Gab Smolders' playthroughs on YouTube. Her videos are so absorbing and cosy, and I was surprised by how well-made the games are. Imo the older ones still hold up - love the humour, the settings, the puzzles.

I heard the developers might not be making more games. Someone said that cost was an issue, but don't know if that's true or just speculation.

P.S. I'm sorry if this question's been asked before. I scrolled through some of the other topics and didn't see any recent posts about this so...

Curious what people's other nostalgia/comfort games are and what we might have in common!

Nancy Drew is peak comfort/nostalgia gaming for me, but I recently figured out how to emulate LoZ Twilight Princess and it has me wondering what other folks in this sub like to play from when they were younger...

Here are some of my other childhood faves that I still play: OG Kingdom Hearts, Harvest Moon it's a Wonderful Life, Harvest Moon Save the Homeland, LoZ Twilight Princess, LoZ Skyward sword, Bratz Rock Angelz, Sims 2, Tony Hawk American Wasteland, and Jack and Daxter

I also love Barbie Swan Lake, Barbie Princess and the Pauper, Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets (PC), and Muppet Treasure Island (lol) but have had trouble trying to get them to run with varying degrees of success throughout the years.

Curious to hear everyone else's lists 👀

Nancy Drew Photoshoot

Every few years my husband indulges me and does a themed photoshoot with me for my birthday. I really wanted to do Nancy Drew. I know not everyone likes Ned and Nancy together but I hope some people enjoy it anyway since I don’t have anyone to relate to to share them with 😂🥰
