I mailed my 83(b) election on time via certified mail but made two mistakes. First, I sent it to the payment P.O. box instead of the no-payment address. Second, I live in California so it should have gone to Ogden, UT but the payment address sent it to Louisville, KY instead. I have my certified mail receipt proving I mailed it within 30 days. I'm now 4 days past the deadline.

Do I need to file for late relief under Rev Proc 2012-29? Should I resend to Ogden, UT today? Will the original one get forwarded?
