Another inherited piece my father gave me.
This one is in great condition and starting to get some nice toning

RIC 716, Rome Mint, 129-130 AD. I got this in a small lot of coins and it took me a while to pin down what it is. It doesn't appear to be a common coin. Mine has been around town a time or two and has a nice, thick green patina that I really like.
There's some unsightly scratches on the slab but its ok, still love em!
In lovely shape. V nickels are my favorite nickel types to ha e been produced IMO.
I love the zoomorphic and Urnes style artwork on a lot of their pieces. I as well have a thing for coins with ships as a part of the design.
My only seated half which causes me to seek another but I do enjoy this one with decent details.
Laodicea mint, 193-211 AD.
Obverse: Bust of Septimius Severus right, L SEPT SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX.
Reverse: Victory advancing left, VICTORIAE AVG G FEL.
Rome mint, 114-117 AD.Obverse: Laureate and draped bust of Trajan right, IMP CAES NER TRAIAN OPTIM AVG GERM DAC.
Reverse: Fortuna seated left holding rudder and cornucopiae, PARTHICO P M TR P COS VI P P S P Q R / FORT RED. RIC 315
AR Denarius, Rome Mint, 57 BC. Crawford 420/2a.
I love this coin. You can tell it made its rounds in ancient times. Counterstamps, wearing down on the design elements but on a nice oversized flan. One of ony a few that have a permanent place in my collection. I will admit, I also want a nicer specimen to go with it as well.
I really like the older Canadian quarters but they're even better when PL.
Melle R3. Obverse: +CARLVS REX ×.
Reverse: + METTVLO, Carolingian monogram.
843-877 AD. 1.68 grams, 22.5mm.
Hetoum I & Zabel, 1226-1270 AD, AR Tram, 21mm, 2.87 grams.
I've come across some nice dimes building my set.
I really enjoy Seated Liberty designs.
Quadriga's are the best!
My other example of these types that I really like. I find that these can be a little difficult to find with the eye appeal I like.
Does anyone else have a collection of coins with ships as a part of the design?
RIC 83, Antioch mint.
I only have two of these types but I am really wanting to add several more to the collection.
Beautiful colors but unfortunately they're a little dinged up.
