Cost of Transferring

Hi! I'm an incoming freshman at the colorado school of mines but I'm already thinking I might want to transfer to another school because I want to pursue latin along with engineering. I've done a lot of research with like how to transfer/what makes a competitive applicant but I'm hung up on the cost. It seems like a lot of the time transfer students don't get as many financial aid opportunities as first year students do and another big reason I want to transfer is the cost of Mines. I know a lot of T25 schools offer need-based aid but my family doesn't demonstrate much need on paper. For those of you who successfully transferred what was the cost like?
