How to take legal action against KLM

UPDATE: I called customer service and demanded for an invoice for the extra payment and they quickly issued a refund because they could not justify the payment. This is after submitting multiple claims and getting rejected. I’m so upset! KLM are thieves with NO integrity and their claim that they do thorough investigations is BS. That means they would‘ve simply kept my money. Unbelievable! Thanks everyone for your help.

I need your advise on taking legal action against KLM and how to best approach this dispute.

On 6 May 2026, I completed an online flight change through KLM’s app and paid x amount (I have the payment confirmation and email confirmation of the flight change). The payment was successfully processed and charged to my account.

However, upon arriving at the airport for check-in, I was informed by KLM staff that the flight change was not reflected in their system and that I would be required to make payment in order to travel, which I did.

The airport staff said that I should request a reimbursement from KLM. Now that I’ve done so, they refuse to reimburse with no clear explanation and also have not issued an invoice for the initial online payment.

How can I pursue this case further?
