Feel like I have to choose a personal life or professional progress.

Speaking as a middle-aged woman in the Midwest, I feel like I am at a pivitol point where if I choose one thing, it will completely eradicate the opportunity of another. I am out of point in my life where I’ve had a sustained business for several years and have the opportunity to really elevate what I’m doing. Traditionally I have been more private and working on the wings, and some things are changing to where my name is gonna be out there a bit more and connected to trainings, nonprofit work, being outspoken on deeply personal and meaningful causes regarding se.xu.al as.sault and r.a.pe culture.

As I sit here today, it feels like I have to choose, but if I continue to move forward professionally, it will make it more difficult for me to date or start new romantic relationships. I worry, but these things will make it difficult for people to approach me or engage in a comfortable way. I know that I can be warm and relational, quirky, and fun and likable to people.

I really love the idea of collaborating with a partner and working with parallel growth, I like the synergy of these kinds of interpersonal relationships. Well, I think they do well professionally I have yet to figure out how to navigate that personally.

I have never heard when a woman is doing well for a man to say gosh I would love to take her home and respect her, be supportive, be encouraging, and be so secure and what they’re doing and who they are to want to be a part of that. I know that it does happen, and I know there’s great wonderful amazing men out there and I know some great wonderful amazing men. I think I’m in a good place to be a good partner and do all those things and I think I can do both have a successful business and being a successful relationship. I’m just not sure where to find it.

Looking for a friend

Looking for 40-55 yr old friend in Boise area. Someone for coffee dates, conversations or kayaking. Someone with time and energy to meet up and not cancel last minute or for a better offer.

Responsible adult with a flair for travel and meaningful conversations. Moderate activity level and open to small road trips (silver city, weird random cemeteries) and likes to laugh, audio books or podcasts. You can pick the music.

Me: professional female, 50, laid back and adventurous, optimistic with a dark sense of humor. Not crude but open and accepting… low tolerance for poor boundaries. No kids or pets at present.

I will block you if you send creepy or perverted messages.

Reporting an attorney for lying during a bar investigation

Idaho. I have documentation that an attorney lied during the course of a bar investigation. The attorney is stating the reporting party made up an entire car accident and they were never in one. I did a public records request and have a copy of the car accident report. Verifying the reporting party did not lie. Is it worth reporting the attorney to the bar for lying during a prior bar investigation? It’s clear and convincing.

Documenting IPV, SA, Stalling etc…

Last week I attended the Conference on Crimes Against Women. It was a unique and rewarding experience. I’d like to talk about facilitating some change in the way many therapists were trained and continue to minimally document intimate partner violence, sex.ual assault, stalking, rap.e and other issues.

I initially believed minimal documentation would be helpful for clients and often the goal was to prevent my being called to court or having notes subpoenaed. After the last few years of experiencing these activities in my own life and certainly after attending this conference I believe this way of thinking is outdated and harmful.

I would love to see this amazing group brainstorm ways to be able to provide documentation for clients who talk about experiencing these in short and long term relationships to assist with providing a timeline of events to make prosecution more effective.

Briefly to share my experience in pulling my health care records there was inaccurate, minimal to even negligent documentation of what I reported to them from SA, strangulation, stalking, distress and abuse.

I would love to see ways we as providers can keep showing up for clients and documenting their experiences in a productive and protective way.

Looking for insight on HR complaint and meeting with attorneys

Not sure if this is the right place for this or not. I am in Idaho though it’s s national company. I reported a coworker for sexual assault among other things which occurred over a few years. I was afraid to report initially and just quit the job as he had started dating a coworker and then the coworker became my supervisor and I was trying to get away from the person completely. I then reached out to local HR Rep for the company. I asked who I could file an official report with and was told ‘so sorry you went through that’ and given no information on how to officially report. So I gave up for a bit. I found an online complaint portal and uploaded police reports and other documentation and someone had finally reached out to me and set up a meeting. I’m not sure what to expect.
