First look incisions 13 days PO

Today is day 13 postop from a tummy tuck with light Lipo and fat transfer to the breasts and 5 cm muscle repair. I’m feeling really good today and I took the Steri-Strips off as instructed by my surgeon. I thought I was gonna be much more freaked out by the incision, but I think it looks pretty good! Also very happy with my belly button. Today is the first day I’m feeling really good so I went out for a half a kilometre walk but my body was definitely screaming at me to sit down after that so I’m gonna take it easy the rest of the day.

Day 12 postop before and after

This is my 12 day postop results. I had a tummy tuck with light Lipo to the flanks and upper abdomen for a very small fat transfer to my breasts. And a 5 cm diastasis repair. Recovery has not been easy, but it’s been manageable and mostly better than what I was expecting. I’m at the point now where I’m itching to do more, but my body is asking for more rest so I’m trying to listen. I’m a very active person so I’m just working on adding more gentle steps every day. I’m standing up about 90% upright now, but my shoulders are still rolling and I absolutely cannot straighten them yet

Intense pressure?

I am 9 days postop from a tummy tuck with light liposuction, and 5 cm diastasis repair. I am able to get up and down out of bed more easily now and the pain is much improved. I’m not taking any painkillers anymore, but I’m having this intense pressure in my lower abdomen when I go from laying down to standing up and walking. It feels like everything is falling down onto my uterus. it’s quite uncomfortable. Did anyone else have this and how long did it last for you? I’m wearing a binder as instructed by my surgeon 23 out of 24 hours a day and I feel it while wearing the binder or not. Besides that pressure I feel like my recovery is going really well. I had one drain, which I had removed two days ago.

Day 2 post op

Day two post op from tummy tuck, light lipo for fat transfer to even out breast volume and muscle repair. Day of surgery I felt great!! That wore off quickly that evening when the pain hit hard! Getting up was a struggle and I was peeing every hour! I got the pain under control with the meds and by yesterday afternoon I was feeling good again. I actually slept really well last night but this morning I woke up so nauseous and terrified I was going to throw up and have to engage my abs! Thankfully that passed. Pain is much better today so I’m going to try and get off the heavy drugs because they make me feel terrible. I did just Tylenol this morning and so far so good! I also took off the binder and taped as instructed by my surgeon. Got a small sneak peak. The steri strips stay on until they fall off on their own. So I can’t see my belly button yet but I have high hopes because my surgeon does good ones 🙏 overall feeling good. I hate this drain it’s really freaking me out! But I have very little output so hopefully it will come out at my one week postop appointment on Monday. Here is a quick before and after. I can’t really stand up straight yet, but I am standing a little straighter than yesterday.

Oura 3 vs 4 vs 5

I love the 5! So much smaller and thinner! I also noticed when I was setting up the ring that they’ve made it easier to switch between rings so I might keep the 4 and still wear it sometimes because I do love the ceramic!

Tummy tuck booked!

My tummy tuck is booked for June 22nd. Originally I thought I was going to do an umbilical float tummy tuck but after meeting with my surgeon today, he feels I’m going to get the best results with a full tummy tuck and he also thinks I might need a vertical T scar. Not a full FDL but a small one in my bikini area under my belly button. He’s not really sure until he gets in there. I’m going to be doing a small muscle repair as well as liposuction to the abdomen because we’re going to do a small fat transfer to my breast breasts. Just for volume in the upper pole not to change the size. I’m excited and nervous! I’m a little worried about the belly button because I was hoping to not have a scar around it and I know some people have issues with them looking weird. My surgeon says he give it a hood and it will look natural and I do scar quite well, I had a breast lift a couple of years ago when I had my implants removed, and the scars are so light you can barely see them so hopefully the same will be for my tummy! If anyone has similar body type to me, I would like to share their results. I’d love to see them!

Tummy tuck with fat transfer to breasts?

I have my surgery booked for June 22 and my surgeon originally said I don’t need any Lipo. But recently, I have considered doing a fat transfer to my breasts. I had my breast implants removed in 2021 and I loved the way they looked after my surgery, but I’ve since lost almost 40 pounds and I’ve lost a lot of volume. I’m a small B cup and I’m not looking to increase the size of the cup just some more upper pole volume. My question is, do you think I have enough fat in my abdomen to transfer to my breasts? I don’t wanna take it from anywhere else on my body because I’m overall very lean. I don’t wanna put myself through an unnecessary procedure and spend an extra $6000 if it’s not going to work.

Did you need help getting up?

I have been reading stories here all day and panicking. My surgery is booked for June 22. I’ve had major surgery before. I had a breast explant with muscle repair and lift a few years ago and I was fine. The recovery wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating. But I fear the tummy tuck is going to be worse. I’m having a tummy tuck to remove some loose skin a possible muscle repair. We won’t know until he opens me up if I need that and small amount of lipo. I’m at a healthy bmi of 20. I’m fit and workout. How common is it to not be able to get out of bed on your own for the first few days, or get up from a toilet seat on your own? I didn’t even think that was going to be a problem until I started reading all of the stories here today and now I’m not sure 😕

Muscle repair?

Is there anyway to tell if you need a muscle repair for sure before surgery? I’ve heard people say they didn’t need one but then the doctor opened them up and they had a fairly big separation. I’ve been checked out by a pelvic floor physical therapist and she said I don’t have a meaning diastases. I don’t k ow if that means I need a repair or not. I’d love to avoid it but the recovery but also want the best stents result I can get as well of I’m going through this.

Super fit ladies what’s your recovery like?

I’m very fit. Low body fat, having in between a mini and full tummy tuck with likely no muscle repair or possibly very little. I’m gonna let him decide when he gets in there. And very little to no lipo. I work out strength training four times a week. I do Pilates 1 to 2 times a week and I get 20,000 steps a day. Been doing this for 4 years. I feel like the hardest part for me is going to be taking time off of my fitness routine. I keep hearing about people still spending the majority of their day on the couch at four and five months postop! Is that the norm or is it depending on the procedure you had? Do your fitness levels have any affect on your recovery? Thanks for any info :)

Mini tummy tuck with umbilical float?

I’ve had a few consults and the surgeons seem to think a mini tummy tuck is what I need? Any thoughts on mini vs full for me? The surgeon I’m thinking of going with said I could either do an umbilical float and keep my belly button. He said it would be about 2 cm lower. Or I can get a new belly button with the scar which I’m not super excited about. He also said I didn’t need lipo. I’m not sure about that? I’m quite lean with a bmi of 19 but I definitely have lower belly fat but he seems to think it’s mostly stretched fascia skin with a small amount of fat. I’ve
lost 40 pounds over the past 5 years and I’ve been pregnant 4 times. I really hoped losing the weight would fix my stomach, but I feel it’s just left me with even more loose skin that I’d really like to get rid of.
