ASUS ROG Strix G634JZ - GPU died after 3 years and ASUS refusing to collaborate
So I'm genuinely frustrated right now and needed to vent this somewhere. I bought an ASUS ROG Strix G634JZ about 3 years ago for 12,000 AED (around $3300 USD) thinking I was getting a solid gaming machine. I took decent care of it, temps were always under control, never overclocked or did anything crazy with it. It's on my desktop with pretty "breathable" area.
Few months ago it started giving me VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT errors and the dreaded Code 43 on my GPU. After digging through forums and testing, it's clearly a GPU subsystem failure. Not my fault, not driver related - I've tried literally 3 different driver versions and the same pattern every time.
So I contact ASUS support with all the diagnostic dumps and everything. Asked if they could do a goodwill fix since I'm outside the standard warranty window but the failure is clearly a hardware defect. They say no. Fine, frustrating but ok.
I try again like a month later with even more documentation. They refuse again. Didn't even really explain why just basically told me to pay for repairs.
Now I have a 12,000 AED laptop that's basically a brick and ASUS won't help. I'm just looking for some acknowledgment that their hardware failed prematurely?
Anyone else had this issue with ASUS? Is there anything else I can even try at this point? This is honestly killing me because I can't really justify buying another expensive laptop right now and this one is just sitting here useless.
Thanks,
