reading comp jumpscare

I just took a practice test (out of 114), these are my results:

ela: 35/57

math: 48/57

im legit scared out of my life for reading comp

I try to connect the answer choices to the text to see which one is right and all, but doing so usually eats up all of my time and I gotta rush at the end.

reading comp has felt like my downfall

no matter how much I try to study the questions, my score just keeps on decreasing.

how are you supposed to force yourself to like a passage? like, I've heard "ask yourself questions along the way" but idk, when I do i just get reminded that im racing against the clock and so i jus switch to the mindset of "lemme jus get through this"

idk

do u guys have any tips, or jus anything to say tbh .?

im lowk losing hope

(goal is bths)

Practice test raw scores—any tips to improve for brooklyn tech?

I've taken 3 kaplan practice tests, and these are my raw scores (bths is my goal):

First: 38/57 English, 24/57 math

Second: 36/57 English, 44/57 math

Third: 36/57 English, 43/57 math

Any thoughts/tips to improve for shsat8?

For ela, i mostly need tips for reading comp since i got all revising/editing questions correct; I overthink every question and end up choosing the wrong answer 😭.

For math, I need tips for breaking through ~43/57 😅

Revising/Editing — How much time should you spend?

How much time should you spend on the r&e section? I find it difficult to read the passage carefully while trying to maintain a fast pace and feeling like im running out of time

(on my practice tests, I usually spend 18–22 mins on the section whole revising and editing section)
