Used 2024 vs 2026 for Durham/Chapel Hill Commute – Standard or Long Range?
Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy a used Tesla (either a 2024 or a 2026 model) and could use some help deciding between Standard Range and Long Range.
My Situation:
Commute: Durham to Southern Village (Chapel Hill) daily, 1 PM – 9 PM.
Weekend/Weekly: Frequent trips to Southpoint Mall.
Charging: Currently in an apartment with shared chargers, but moving into a house in August with a dedicated Level 2 charger.
The Dilemma: Since I'll have home charging, is there any practical reason to pay the premium for a Long Range? Also, for those who have seen the 2026s hitting the used market, is there a massive jump in build quality from the 2024 'Highland' (Model 3) refresh that makes the 2026 worth the extra cost?"
