To the National Anti-Ragging Monitoring Committee / UGC,
I am writing to formally report an active, documented case of severe intimidation, aggravated ragging, and criminal conspiracy to commit mob violence within Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC), Kolkata.
The sequence of events documented through the unofficial 2026 MBBS fresher batch WhatsApp communications is as follows:
Systemic Coercion & Unauthorized Mandates: Seniors and designated batch representatives circulated unauthorized 4-to-5-page "Intro" scripts mandating forced memorization of non-academic trivia, campus statue locations, and strict dress codes.
Reactions to Public Forum Exposure: When these illegal diktats and severe campus infrastructure deficiencies were leaked onto a public online forum, batch representatives and senior loyalists initiated an aggressive witch-hunt to suppress discussion and protect the "college reputation".
Conspiracy to Commit Mob Violence with Weapons: The situation escalated to direct threats of severe physical harm. In the batch communications, an individual identified as Arghadeep explicitly commanded students to bring weapons ("lathi") to campus to conduct a coordinated mob assault outside the Anatomy Lecture Theatre (ALT): "Kalke class asis na" (Don't come to class tomorrow) "Thapabo dhore. ALT er samne" (Will corner and beat you in front of ALT) "Tui 1st din... Akta lathi niye asis... Sobai mile thapabo . Akjon ke" (You bring a stick on day one... everyone together will beat one person)
Retaliatory Challenges & Personal Abuse: Another student, Akash Mondal, issued explicit retaliatory threats ("Khuje vai tke charboi je krchis it's a challenge be prepare"). Vile slurs targeting family members were also circulated in the group.
Tampering with Evidence: The perpetrators subsequently utilized WhatsApp's "Delete for everyone" feature to wipe these messages once they realized the criminal implications. However, unedited timestamped screenshots capturing the full phone numbers, explicit assault orders, and weapons references were preserved prior to deletion and are attached as primary evidence.
Given the explicit incitement to bring weapons onto campus, I request immediate, urgent intervention from the UGC Anti-Ragging Cell and the National Medical Commission (NMC), along with formal notification to the local jurisdiction (Beniapukur Police Station), to prevent imminent physical violence.
