Salicylic acid vs glycolic acid?

Why do I have these raised spots?? Are they closed comedones?? Pls help me get rid of them and formulate a routine for texture free skin.

Products that I have:

  • Moisturizer: bioderma atoderm creme every night, skipped in the am routine
  • Cleanser: minimalist aquaporin cleanser, dermaco Kojic acid cleanser (occasionally)
  • Serums: minimalist 10% niacinamide, reequil 2% salicylic acid
  • Sunscreen: minimalist light fluid spf 50 (only when I go out)

I use niacinamide and salicylic acid cleanser once every week alternately.

  • Treatment: reequil skin radiance creme every other day (don't use it on the day I use serum)
  • Toner: minimalist glycolic acid toner (just bought it , use it on the underarms, elbows and knees

Up until now since I didn't really go out frequently I used to do skincare only at night and occasionally used any serum

I have just bought the bioderma moisturizer and haven't opened it yet, currently using reequil hyaluronic acid one.

Should I switch salicylic acid with glycolic acid? I have heard that it's kinda harsh on the face so I am currently only using it on my body.

Pls give feedbacks on my routine!! What should I do better??

edit: recently I used marula oil cleaner without following up with a regular cleanser afterwards, this has cause these.

Commuting daily wearing balaclava(UV Protection one)

Hello guys I have started my intern in Kolkata and I use rapido to commute daily. Since Kolkata has a lot of humidity and feels like temp soars upto 45 degrees I bought balaclava for my rapido rides. Just wanted to know since my rapido drop point and intern location is a bit far and I have to enter the parking gate of the business park and reach there after walking some distance in open can I wear balaclava even after getting off my rapido bike or will it look strange? Do you guys wear balaclava even after getting off your bike and remove it when entering an enclosed space. Since its my first time wearing balaclava I dont know whether it is meant only to be worn under helmet or it can be worn without helmet while walking on streets in India.

How do I get rid of persistent pimples? 😭 I ran out of my products and now Idk what to buy next (oily acne prone skin)

I do not have an habit of applying sunscreen whenever I go out as its really sweaty these days and I just keep dripping the sunscreen in the heat & also cuz it gets finished too quick & it's expensive 😭

But I did it use it most of the days (was using fixderma shadow sunscreen)

Currently using dot and key face wash (green & blue one) , no moisturizer or sometimes dot and key barrier repair ceramide moisturizer. applying anything feels rn in summers feels very sticky or gives "unclean" feeling.

After makeup I use micellar water (pink) and then facewash.

Now I have got these pimples. Sometimes on the cheeks, sometimes on forehead, sometimes on chin. Old ones go and new one pop up. And it's been going on for weeks🥲

I have few questions.

  1. How to get rid of these constant popping up of pimples? I know sometimes they are inevitable but how do I extend the period of time they don't pop up?

  2. How do I get rid of post pimple/acne marks?

  3. Does makeup play a role in coming of these pimples? Is there a way to apply makeup that it does not induce pimples?

  4. How to even out the skin having hyperpigmentations near mouth and smile line area?

what is the general consensus on this sunscreen? I read that octinoxate is a bad filter to have in sunscreens. This sunscreen seems to have it, so confused if i should use it or look for alternatives.

Taking the plunge for us stinky girlies 💪🏼

I've always had stinky sweat since I hit puberty. And I sweat profusely on top of that. Spent thousands on deodorants and antiperspirants and everything in between. Thought this was gonna be my life now. I had made peace with it. Then suddenly I see so many posts regarding this magical alum.

My intrigue meter went up again💡

I've experimented a lot regarding my stinking pits but many failed. But I have a good feeling about this. Made my husband get it for me. Now it's time to take the one for the team 👍🏼👃🏼

Wish me luck, give me lots of tips and fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I shall report back very soon🫡

Is something wrong with my tretinoin cream?

hi so i recently purchased this tretinoin cream after my dermat recommended this to me as a last resort for my dark underarms, I've used this for a month at this point and I see no changes in the pigmentation on top of this my tretinoin cream has been developing a yellowish/off white tint to it and the cream shines like it has mica in it, almost has a pearly sheen to it, all of this is making me wonder if the pharmacy i bought it from sold me a fake

also please consult a doctor before buying or using tretinoin, this cream is highly potent and hence should only be used under medical supervision.

Deconstruct or Re'equil ?

I have extremely oily skin, and acne prone. I'm using salicylic acid facewash so I don't have active acne anymore - but I don't want to break out! Which one is better? especially for night use?

I saw a lot of posts but I'm not able to figure out which one would be more suitable, even though it depends person to person.

Which one works better for you people?

Is it okay to use a high-end sunscreen for my 1st application and a cheap one for reapplying?

Can I use a high-end sunscreen like BOJ, Rilastil, or La Roche-Posay for my morning/first application… and then use a more affordable sunscreen like Dot & Key, WishCare, Foxtale, Plum, or Conscious Chemist for reapplication during the day?

Since reapplying multiple times gets expensive, I’m trying to balance protection + budget. Has anyone here done this long-term? Any issues with protection, layering, or formulation compatibility?

I've struggled with acne for years now idk what to do, can anyone recommend me products or ingredients?

I use derma co 1% salicylic acid cleanser and ponds super light gel and a sunscreen only. I'm thinking abt using niacinamide as well. I have closed comedones as well as red dots on cheeks and dark spots on forehead and chin (idk what to call them lol) I'm confused by all these ingredients like azelaic acid and aha and what not, can anyone explain what do these ingredients do?. Whatever I try doesn't seem to work, SPECIALLY salicylic acid. Please recommend me smth which is not too expensive if y'all can😭✌️or even ingredients can work! I'm 16 btw.

Please suggest me good affordable sunscreen🙏🙏

When I go out with my sunscreen on. I'm pretty sure mai aur kala ho jata hu😭😭😭. Right now I'm trying to get rid of the tan on my face, toh i use glycolic acid toner twice a week but I feel like not enough protection is making my skin even more dull. I'm a gareeb student i can't buy 2-3 sunscreen monthly🙏.

I have tried

Sunscoop sunscreen

Conscious chemist - berry and sun drink both

Underated sunscreen - currently using this one🙂

Please suggest me a sunscreen that provides good protection and lasts for atleast a month under 300rs🙏

Experiences with Demelan?

Has anyone used Demelan? I’ve been searching (this subreddit included) for different experiences with this cream, but it seems to be very limited so far. I’ve never heard of it until now, but judging by the ingredients, this could be really good for hyperpigmentation. The combination of several lightening powerhouses intrigues me, especially because I hate needing multiple bottles of things. I personally would aim to use for the body rather than face.

In case anyone’s also unfamiliar and now curious, the actives are:

10% Glycolic Acid

5% Alpha-Arbutin

2% Kojic Acid Dipalmitate

Please help me find a product for my low porosity, dry hair

So I (M) have low porosity, dull and very dry hair. It frizzes quite a lot too. Main concern is it looks really dry and dull. I have dandruff issues for which I use a strong shampoo but that makes my hair even drier.

I would like some recommendations for effective shampoos (to use it in days where I'm not using my dandruff shampoo), serums and/or conditioner. I'm looking at some products from streax and L'Oréal. Are these any good? If you have any recommendations please drop them

•Dr. Sheth's Ceramide & VitC Oil-Free Moisturizer

•Fixderma sunscreen

Currently using:

•Requil oil free moisturizer

•Minimilist 2% salicylic acid facewash.

•same sunscreen

which showed better results than previous one but still,

My skin is not clearing out and these spots are also not going away.(I have oily skin)

Best moisturizer for combination skin

I have T-zone oily skin and I’ve been using Bioderma’s Atoderm Ultra Cream for almost 2 years. Honestly, I never really thought about switching because it worked pretty well for me.

Recently, I was at a friend’s place and noticed she was using Moiz LMF 48. I asked her about it and she said her dermatologist had recommended it for her skin type. We both have the same issue oily T-zone but dehydrated/sensitive skin so I thought why not give it a try. Also, the pricing is pretty similar, though Bioderma is slightly more expensive.

Before proceeding with Moiz, I compared both the products on SkinSort according to my skin type, and surprisingly Moiz turned out to be the better match for my concerns.

I’ve been using Moiz LMF 48 twice a day for about a month now, and this has been my experience so far:

  1. My skin feels more hydrated throughout the day.

  2. My skin looks healthier and more supple.

  3. Some of my post-acne marks look calmer now.

  4. It doesn’t feel greasy on my face, which was important for me. Bioderma also never felt greasy, so both are good in that aspect.

  5. It gives long-lasting hydration without making my skin feel heavy.

One thing to note: Bioderma is fragrance-free, while Moiz does contain fragrance. I was a little skeptical initially because my skin is sensitive, but personally it didn’t irritate my skin at all. From what I read, the fragrance used is IFRA-certified and the product is non-comedogenic.

Overall, I think both are really good moisturizers, but for my skin, Moiz LMF 48 felt slightly more hydrating and nourishing.
