So I have an E46 318i with a lot of basic interior features and I want to retrofit an auto-dimming rearview mirror. When I went to the junkyard I found 2 auto-dimming rearview mirror, the difference between the two is that one has 3 cable and the other has 5 cable.

What are the differences between those two? (I don't know if those mirrors belong to the E39 or E46 because both models has the same-looking mirrors and its the mirrors without the clown nose)
