Tinlicker & Helsloot - Edge Of Forever out today
beatport.comCup car handling seems to have improved since the update
I've done a few cup car races recently and the improvement was noticeable. My strategy in cup car races has always been to tail the other cars and overtake when I can, cause even if they touch you in the slightest or you touch them your car will spin out of control. That's improved, as now I can actually get into the thick of it with these cars and drive among them without things getting as crazy as before. I can also nitro to the max and stay in a straight line, which wasn't always the case for the cup car I use. Don't get me wrong, if the car goes on grass or offroad it still spins like a top, lol. But yes, I think it's another quiet improvement IVT has made and I'm glad.
Racing against my ghost replayer
Since the update, every time I do an outrun or time attack now I see my own ghost from the former race. This didn't use to happen before. Is there a way to turn it off? I have everything turned off in Options such as Replayers, Rival Names, Player Names, Tips etc. but I still see the replayer ghost.
Kudos to Ubisoft for a great Motorfest update
Numerous challenges that have been broken even since I started playing the game have now been fixed with the recent update/patch, which is awesome. It seems like they actually fixed all the broken challenges as all I've tried so far were successful.
What I really appreciate though is them minimizing the AI aggressiveness a bit on Difficulty 1 for some of the playlist races. Sometimes I just want a relaxed racing experience without AIs attacking me like piranhas, lol. I can now enjoy replaying some of the races I usually avoid because of their AI aggressiveness.
I personally appreciate these fixes more than the new playlist events, lol. Input loss is affecting me too, but otherwise it's a great update imo.

soundcloud.comI've been playing racing games since PS1 and Motorfest is the best racing game I've ever personally played
I just really love this game.
Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to share my love for TCM. I’m just surprised and happy to find a game I truly love so much after years of gaming. I’m sure there are others here who felt like I do now when you first played TCM. The fact that some of you are here 3 years after the game came out says a lot. I’m actually gaming A LOT more now than I ever did on my PS1 or any PS console, which is mind-blowingly unexpected to me. Since I discovered this game in early February, I’ve been playing it every day for hours. Even though I had the time to take a vacation, I chose not to go because I couldn’t tear myself away from the game for a day, lol.
Motorfest has changed my life, here are some of the reasons why.
First off, TCM is the most beautiful racing game I’ve ever played. Every shot is wallpaper-friendly, the colors are so vivid for Everything and Everywhere. I've seen many awesome shots shared by you guys on this sub.
I’ve been playing nothing but offroad racing games since PS1, I’ve never really cared much for street/asphalt racing. My favorite games were: PS1 – 2 Extreme; PS2 – Downhill Domination, and PS3: Nail’d, all of them offroad racing games. TCM has changed that in a big way; my favorite playlists in the game are all road racing playlists - Luxury Chronicles, Dream Cars, Made in Japan, Porsche 911 etc. Road racing has Never looked as good in any other game for me as it does in TCM.
I’d rather play TCM than dedicated games. For example, I’d rather play monster trucks in all the races in custom mode rather than a dedicated monster truck game like Monsterjam Showdown. I’d rather play TCM’s bikes in custom mode than, say, Ride 6. I own both those games, they didn’t grab me after a couple of hours of play. Also, TCM is the first game where I actually really enjoy flying with planes. Have you guys tried Kingdom of Lani in the dusk/rain setting? So amazing.
Another thing I love about the game is the variety: there is always something to do. In one session you can do a ton of street racing, some offroad, a dash of boats, a touch of planes, a bit of monster truck, even a cup car or RC style race to finish off. You can do some night racing with the awesome neon-blue streets of Made in Japan, or you can chase some flares in Street Riders, do a coaster track, a gymkhana-style race, or if you’re in the mood for challenges you can do some Red Bull action lists. There are so many different types of racing styles and environments etc. to choose from for whatever fits your mood.
When it comes to buying racing games, I’ve never really been fussy about the types of cars I race with, I’m usually more concerned with the racing tracks/courses a game has. With TCM, I’m literally spending half a day in the shop test driving and buying cars because cars look and feel so good in this game, lol.
This is the only game where I’ve written detailed notes for myself on the entire game. I've created a Word table for each TCM playlist, including all the Main Stage Legacy years 1-3 events. In my notes I’ve written details for each playlist event like length, payout, track description etc. I’ve highlighted all the events that are my favorites or ones I prefer to skip. It’s a very helpful guide for when I revisit playlists.
I usually listen to my own music while racing but TCM is the first game where I keep the music on at all times because the tracks are quality. It’s also the first game to introduce me to new music like Starcadian-Trapped in America, Ben Elson-89 or even the classical coolness of Hampus Naeselius – Inverted, among others. Racing with high-speed cars to classical music is a first for me (Luxury Chronicles) and there's something really cool about it.
I’m a very selective person when it comes to games. There are many games I’ve abandoned after playing them for an hour or 2 and never went back to. Right now, I’ve played 2-4 hours of other racing games like Driveclub, NFS Rivals, Gear Club Unlimited, Grid: Legends etc. and I probably won’t try them again until maybe a year or so from now if at all. Nothing against those games, they just didn’t win me over quickly. I do like Dirt 5 a lot, as well as Gravel, Grip, Fast & Furious: Rise of Shiftr. I haven’t played FH yet.
I think this sub needs a post like this once in a while to remind us of how truly special a game TCM is and how lucky we are to have it : )
Because of Art, Antony Szmierek - Circle of Light (Dosem Remix) out June 19
beatport.comMichael Cassette - When You're In Love EP incoming on June 19
beatport.comLane 8 & Kasablanca - You is the main screen track for Forza Horizon 6 released last week
Don't know if there are other gamers in this sub, but I'm always glad to hear some quality electronic music in racing games I play. Motorfest also has good tracks by Matt Fax, AMR, etc.
