HSV2 and autoimmune disorder

Hey everyone! Recently contracted HSV2 a few months ago and also just got diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder this month. I believe I will be starting immunosuppressant therapy soon for my autoimmune symptoms. I’m worried that suppressing my immune system will allow HSV to cause more outbreaks. Wondering if anyone here has experience with this and advice.

Daily, I take many supplements: lysine, monolaurin, b12, vit d with vit k, probiotic, berberine, TUDCA, glutathione, coQ10, and propolis and at night ashwaganda and magnesium (lots of supplements loll)

And I stopped Valtrex for a few weeks but got a very very minor outbreak with one sore after a weekend of drinking, lacking sleep and traveling far on a flight. Therefore, I restarted the Valtrex 500mg last week since I am still within the first year window of contracting this. Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated:)

Chest tightness

Hello everyone! I’m newly finding out I most likely have Sjogrens (have all the symptoms and a positive SSB but officially seeing rheum in 2 weeks to get a full work up). I have struggled with costochondritis for YEARS and most recently I noticed I intermittently get chest tightness, shortness of breath, and sometimes wheezing which requires a rescue inhaler, although that’s rare to happen. I’m an acute care RN so I am trying to look at my symptoms very factually and of course I am concerned about lung involvement. However, I noticed that the shortness of breath coincides with when my stomach is not digesting food properly and I have some acid reflux. The chest tightness started happening again last night but actually went away after I took an antacid and I was SHOCKED. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced acid reflux like this? Ive never had a patient complain about shortness of breath/wheezing with GERD but I keep reading about it online. My gut health of course worsens during my flares so I’m wondering if maybe my body is just having a heightened reaction to the acid reflux bc of the systematic inflammation? Lmk if anyone has insight:)

Need advice

Hello everyone- I am 28F and about to be diagnosed with Sjogrens or possibly another autoimmune disorder. I have had symptoms for about 10 years and every doctor has told me I have anxiety lol and I just got my SSB and ANA back which both are elevated. However my SSA is normal. For reference, I am an inpatient acute care nurse so I’m very well versed in medicine and I have had textbook Sjogrens symptoms and now it is all clicking together with these positive labs- watering eyes, runny nose, dry mouth, enamel decay, chest tightness/rib pain, severe fatigue, frequent oral thrush, delayed gastric emptying, urinary incontinence during flares, eczema, joint pain, headaches, etc. Recently, I have also have been having asthma exacerbations requiring a rescue inhaler too.

I also recently got diagnosed with HSV-2 and the autoimmune symptoms became more exacerbated after contracting it along with new menstrual cramps during flares when I am not on my period. Does anybody else have experience with HSV-2 and Sjogrens? My autoimmune symptoms are now debilitating my life so I absolutely need to go on some form of medication but I am worried that suppressing my immune system will trigger constant HSV outbreaks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Also, props to everyone going through this bc it is for sure not easy- I have never felt so terribly in my life and I’m worried I may need to change my career bc of it. During flares, even my adderall prescription and coffee aren’t keeping me awake. Giving a virtual hug to you all❤️
