Friendly reminder that TCG could tell us about dottore's future as playable character

With the 7.0 TCG card leaks, it looks like the developers are gradually introducing the entire Nod-Krai cast into Genius Invokation TCG.

Up until now, almost every Weekly Boss has eventually received a playable TCG card—including Signora.

The only apparent exceptions have been playable characters who also have a Weekly Boss fight, such as Raiden Shogun, the Wanderer, and Arlecchino. However, they did receive TCG cards based on their playable designs rather than their boss forms. That makes sense, since the playable version seems to take priority over the boss design in TCG. In all three cases, their playable versions and boss fights were released around the same time.

Dottore is the obvious exception because he isn't playable.

Following this pattern, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Moontorre TCG card around Versions 7.1 or 7.2, possibly alongside Columbina's.

And honestly... if that happens, I don't think it's a good sign.

I'd definitely enjoy playing him in TCG—I love both Genius Invokation and Moontorre—but I'd actually rather not see him get a card.

If he doesn't receive one, I think there are two possible explanations:

  1. As nither Moontorre or Dr Data are considered his definitive design (basically the only things we'll see of him for the rest of the game) If HoYoverse plans to make Dottore playable later with a different design, they may simply be waiting to release his TCG card based on that version instead. Since TCG doesn't seem to allow two different cards representing the same character on the field, the playable design would likely take priority.

That would be a good sign actually, hinting at a possible return?

  1. Dottore is a special case. His clones (Segments) make him fundamentally different from every other character. Releasing a boss-form TCG card now could become awkward if a playable version arrives later. You could even argue that two different Segments could coexist, but that would be pretty unusual from a TCG perspective. On top of that, he already has two distinct boss designs, which makes deciding which version should become the "official" TCG card even more complicated.
  1. They release both boss designs eventually, and maybe even a dottore playable at the end/middle of snezhnaya. This is the best case scenario to me, (and totally not hopium).

If he ends up never being playable... It'll be bittersweet for me to play his tcg boss.

Another thing that seems important. Dottore is a tcg ghost.

As someone who's followed Genius Invokation TCG since its release, I've noticed a pattern over the years that makes me think HoYoverse doesn't quite know what to do with Dottore in that format.

A good example is what has happened since Natlan. Nearly every important character, Harbinger, or even deceased character has been represented in TCG in some form. Capitano, for instance, isn't playable, yet he still received an Arcane card.

Dottore, on the other hand, has received absolutely nothing.

Even throught a small backround art, you'd think they'd show him.

BUT NO.

Look throught the tcg card shop if you don't believe me, there's npc cards, characters cards, things from old events and world quests, and nothing about him, nowhere. (For now.)

Despite being the main antagonist of Sumeru, playing a significant role in Inazuma, returning as an antagonist in Nod-Krai, and existing in Genshin's lore since the 2018 manga, he still hasn't made a single appearance in Genius Invokation TCG. Absolutely no illustration of him. 0. Peanuts.

That's what makes his absence so unusual. At this point, it feels less like an oversight and more like HoYoverse is deliberately avoiding representing him until they decide what direction they want to take with the character.

Let me know what you think and if you have theories ! :3

Lunar Arcanum XII: The Hanged Man and it's possible connection with dottore in 6.6 AQ?

Given the number of upside down scenes we had with dottore and the 6.3 and 6.6 AQ, there are some parallels with dottore that can be done. First, the most obvious ones :

The pose.

Traditionally, the hanged man's Tarot card is hanging upside down, or at least in a position that defies gravity.

We've been able to witness him directly standing upside down in at least 2 archon quest : The 6.3 one and the 6.6 ones. For some reason, his appearances in Inazuma and the in the first Sumeru AQ doesn't seem to follow this pattern.

This posing have only occured so far in quests where he perished in some way. Oh, and also his marketable figure is upside down, for a reason i couldn't find.

Then, the Arcanum's description seems to have a lot in common with the 10th act of the sumeru AQ : Truth Among The Pages Of Purana.

Here it is : «The opulent light sinks into the dark depths beneath the earth, Seeking to redeem the radiance that is fated to be extinguished. Yet "redemption" is a word filled with arrogance, There is an implicit meaning hidden within, That mortals have done some clear wrong that must be corrected. The path where "strength" is sacrificed for "human wisdom", Is that of the "Hanged Man" who seeks to glimpse the mysteries of the demonic heavens hanging from the white tree. Though the intelligence that mortals grasp is flawed, It cannot be said to be false. Quite the opposite, for reflected in his inverted eyes, Is a pure truth illuminated beneath infinite brilliance.»

As we know, in 6.6 AQ quest, Dottore, attempting to create a new world inside the current one, have been stopped by nahida who burnt the irminsul to stop him, as he had merged and corrupted Irminsul to follow throught his plans. He sacrificed his life, a part of his soul, which can be interpreted as "strengh", the strengh to live, for the sake of "human wisdom".

Dottore always believed that humanity should and will be able to supass gods throught technology and science, which he did call progress, regardless of the ethic and morals norms. This is the reason he is called an heretic.

He died knowing the secrets of this world, hidden by the heavenly principles, "to glimpse the mysteries of the demonic heavens hanging from the white tree." Inside irminsul.

Nahida, until the very end of dottore, insisted that his he was smart, but that in no way his knowledge and experiments were "true wisdom." This is were the arcanum says "the intelligence that mortals grasp is flawed, it cannot be said to be false."

That's where it gets... New? Interesting, at least. The card's description says "Quite the opposite, for reflected in his inverted eyes, Is a pure truth illuminated beneath infinite brilliance." It reminds me of the last discussion Dottore had with Pantalone about testing the infinite possibilites of this experiment. In the arcanum, it is said that what is reflected in his eyes is "pure truth". What could be this "pure truth" the arcanum is talking about ? Dottore is watching irminsul burn, so i assume that would be reflected in his eyes. But since he wears a mask, would it really be lmao?? If any of you have any clue about it... I'm all ears. 💉

So that's all for the "in game" part.

As for the meaning of the hanged man... it's pretty complex. i've looked up tarot online and it seems it's going in a certain direction : elliotoracle.com says «The Hanged Man represents making a temporary sacrifice to achieve a greater goal.» From learning the tarot.com :

«The main lesson of the Hanged Man is that we "control" by letting go - we "win" by surrendering. [...] He has sacrificed himself, but he emerges the victor. The Hanged Man also tells us that we can "move forward" by standing still. By suspending time, we can have all the time in the world.»

I remember, when nahida stopped the irminsul from growing further, we had some kind of flash cutescene with datattore, calling them fools and saying that he had “all the time in the world.” Except, we see later on, he had said exactly the contrary with pantalone : when he told him he wanted to cherish the few time that he had left. The hanged man represent in that way, a paradox, a contradiction which is also the way that makes him go forward.

The hanged man can also find a meaning in 6.3. Dottore lost the battle, but as he said himself, this was just an experiment. He was testing the boundaries of fate by usurpating godhood : the goal was to attempt transcending fate, and to collect data. He lost, but he also won. However, in the recent AQ, this is more nuanced. After all, he quite litteraly "died".

He wanted to create a new world inside the current one. In a way, he failed : nahida stopped him and simply redirected teyvat's data into Aaru. However, he succeed. Doing this, freeing the world from the heavenly principle's influence and so depriving teyvat of a written fate inevitably went his way. But again, this is not really a complete win : The heavenly principle still somehow control Teyvat's fate. If they wanted— (or rather, if phanes wanted) there is no doubt they could recreate an equivalent to irminsul. But in the immediate, that is what happenned : a new world is inside the current one.

So, is this a win, or a flippidy flop?

We could think that he lost, because it seems like nothing really changed : Teyvat's data is still safe, HP woke up for 10 seconds, and life will go on. Well, i think dottore won this experiment. And the goal of this experiment was to end fate. Which he did. And i don't think that it is where dottore's plan stops. Only the future will tell us what will truly become of teyvat's fate, and how far did he really plan for.

I am fixating on this AQ line and no one seems to have hightlighted it, so...

So, when i read this, it quite surprised me how Nahida phrased this, in the last moments of the AQ. Nahida said that "As for dottore, the case can be considered close for now. We will, without a doubt, cross path again in the future and until then, Snezhnaya would to best to fully take responsabilities and keep a strict control over their actions."

Does nahida mean that we will cross path again together (with traveler) ? With dottore? Also, when she bit goodbye to dottore, did she only mean this to the segment that was watching irminsul? Honestly, i'm a bit confused by this AQ. I've only done it today, so any explanation/interpretation (which is not necessarily the same) would be welcomed.

If any one here have screenshots in others language, (along with translations) it would be quite appreciated. I am curious to see the different phrasing in different language, it would be much appreciated. In french, some dialogs are quite ambiguous, so i like to cross analyze them in other languages to be (nearly) SURE of the meaning. Some ambiguities seems to be voluntary from the scenarists.

Obv, english isn't my first language,so if anyone had a better translation than i did, i'll welcome it gratefully.
