Rescued this little (not)danger noodle from a glue trap…he was happy!

Im thinking this is an eastern garter? Prob should have id’ed prior to releasing in my garden but he was too cute not to post

I should select these down right?

First year gardener here, some of the plants i picked up from the nursery are actually multiple, and i was unable to split the roots up. Transplanted about a week ago and everything seems to be taking well, but now i have a few planted they are way too close together. Im assuming i should select them down to one each? Or let them compete naturally?

Pics are: butternut squash, zucchini, and then 2 indeterminate tomato varieties
