Unserious names only

Just picked up this sweet girl about a week ago. She's a yellow rat snake, just over a year old. My only problem is finding a name that fits her. My husband and I have three cats named Beans, Mochi, and Cheeto and want to stick to that food theme if it can be helped. So please, drop your most unhinged name suggestions. Some of my personal favorites have been:

Titanic The Second

Tater Tot

Ziptie

Lieutenant Dan(ielle)

Sandwich

String Cheese

US snakes

I often see posts from Americans along the lines of: “I stepped outside and there was a snake on my doorstep.”
Or: “I was out buying bread and saw a snake.”

I live in a region with a climate similar to America’s. But to see a snake, you’d have to go to some godforsaken place—you can’t even imagine.

Can you explain why it’s so easy to come across snakes in the US? And such pretty ones, too—not just some gray slug.

I think my snake hates me

Meet Cronos. He enjoys room temperature natural spring water, questionable historical documentaries, cubical architecture, and violence. His favorite hobbies are striking at his own shadow, rearranging his enclosure, judging you, pooping directly into his water bowl for chemical warfare purposes, and engaging in prolonged negotiations with invisible enemies. Does not enjoy long walks on the beach.

Hognose snake, eggs??

My friend sent me photos of his snake, I’ve had snakes for years but have never dealt with this situation so I need some guidance. I’m waiting for more photos, but I figured I’d post now anyways.

Obviously the base of her tail is swollen, she’s 7 years old I believe and this is the first one he’s seen. I believe it’s an egg? I’m not sure what next steps he should take, I’m doing research now but I’m sure I’ll get tons of help from here as well. Should we be worried, thinking of a vet, or just set up humid hide and let her be? Any advice is appreciated greatly

My Snake is rubbing his nose raw while he's shedding.

I have lucistic ball python. Hes 2 years old and a recently ate a mouse. He started turning pink which is our sign that he's about to shed. I went to check on how his shed is doing and noticed he's scrapped up his nose really good. I have a lava rock in his terrarium that he uses to rub his shed off but I took it out after I saw his face. He has a heating pad under half his terrarium that keeps his warm side at 90°F and his cold side sits a room temp which is usually 70° we normally have his humidity around 70%-80% but with his shed we boosted it up to 90%-95%. We use coconut Reptichip for his substrate. I know I shouldn't be handling him while he's shedding but I got nervous and needed to take a photo. As you can tell he already shed past his head so he's been scratching at his new scales.

First ever melanistic vipera ammodytes documented in Bulgaria

This is an unbeliavable find. It's the first ever documented specimen for bulgaria, and considering a photo of a melanistic v.ammodytes can't be found on the internet i'd say worldwide.

All credits go to Vlado Rusev,a bulgarian herpetologist and 'snake rescuer'

Green Rough Snake - New Snake Owner

So I have been wanting an insectivorous snake forever and a half. This weekend at a reptile expo I finally found one and decided to purchase this rough green snake, which I have named String Bean (SB). I also purchased the habit I have attached a photo of above. This habitat is currently a temporary one as I'm moving in a month and am planning on getting a much nicer and bigger terrarium that will be bioactive as well.

The issue that I'm having is now I'm worried that maybe I went in over my head as everything I'm reading on rough greens is that they are extremely fragile and hard to keep. Despite the vendor I purchased SB from stating that it would be fine, even as a first time snake owner.

SB seems happy so far. Roaming around, ate about 4 crickets (medium size) on the second day, and is drinking and pooping normally.

Temperature during the day in the enclosure gets up to about 85°F and at night when I switch off the light goes down to about 71°F. Humidity is between 50-70%. The temporary enclosure is also bioactive with live plants (purchased at a reptile store), reptisoil substrate with a drainage later, some dry leaves and woodchips. Plus the log in the front, which us his/her main hideaway.

My questions to you is, did I indeed get in over my head?

Is a rough green snake really that difficult to care for?

Do you all have any general advice on rough green snake ownership?

If you've owned a rough green what was your experience keeping them?

I appreciate all advice and helpful comments in advance.
