The seemingly invincible badass dies an ordinary death.

Arthur Morgan (Red Dead 2) A terrifyingly capable outlaw who survives gunfights, robberies, beatings, and entire armies of lawmen… and tuberculosis is what ultimately kills him.

Khal Drogo (Game of Thrones) One of the greatest Dothraki warriors alive. He isn’t killed in combat; a relatively minor wound becomes infected. The attempted magical treatment complicates things afterward, but the beginning of his downfall is basically an infected cut.

Vito Corelone (Godfather) Survives an assassination attempt and decades at the top of organized crime, then dies peacefully from a heart attack while gardening and playing with his grandson.

Why do the Exorcists keep Rogal Dorn being their Primarch a secret? Are they ashamed of their Dornness?

I just learned that outside of the 1st company the chapter keeps the knowledge of their Primarch a secret.

Couples where the guy is the one that wants to settle down and the girl is the one that is hesitant to do so.

Ted and Robin (How I met your mother) Ted wants marriage, children, and the whole settled-down family life. Robin loves him, but she prioritizes independence and her career and doesn’t want kids… neither side is wrong, they just want different things.

Percy and Vex (Vox Machina) Once Percy works through a lot of his issues he’s much more drawn toward building a permanent life with Vex… she on the other hand cares about Percy but is much more restless and adventurous and the idea of settling down is pretty daunting to her. They do eventually marry, however…

Additionally Percy was the one that initially wanted their relationship to be official… While she was the one that was pretty content with keeping it as a casual fling of sort.

Kanan and Hers (Star Wars Rebels) Kanan is much more willing to acknowledge that they’re essentially a couple and wants something resembling an actual life together. Hera loves him, but she has devoted herself so completely to the Rebellion that she is reluctant to put their relationship ahead of the cause.

The random loyal fan who stuck with the protagonist the whole way

Nacho Libre - Every fight Nacho has in the movie there’s always that one old guy who supported Nacho the whole movie.

Tony Gazzo (Rocky) He’s Rocky’s loan-shark boss who had a soft spot for him He gives Rocky money to take Adrian out, helps him financially when he gets the Apollo opportunity, and generally seems proud that this random collector working for him suddenly gets a shot at the heavyweight championship and goes to both fights Rocky has against Apollo just to support him.

Character is nice by their group’s standards which isn’t saying a lot

Ondolemar (Skyrim) He is a Thalmor agent and does believe in Altmer superiority, openly looks down on the Empire and Nords, and literally sends you to find evidence against a Talos worshipper so the man can be arrested.

But compared with the Thalmor you usually encounter, Ondolemar is weirdly personable and doesn’t go out of his way to insult you. And if you do his quest he’ll be willing to help make a distraction for you during a questline later in the game.

Malkaan Feirros (Warhammer 40k) Is of the Iron Hands Space Marines who look down upon and hate regular humans and their weakness of organic flesh. Feirros is extremely unusual for an Iron Hand because he tries to hold onto his emotions. He rejects the idea that becoming completely cold and machine-like makes someone stronger; he believes an Iron Hand needs a balance between logic and humanity.

But he is still very intense, pragmatic and ruthless toward his enemies and innocents… but compared to his brother Iron Hands he’s a saint.

Lae’zel (Baldur’s Gate 3) She starts out harsh, arrogant, threatening, militaristic, and pretty comfortable with violence. But by Githyanki standards, she shows a lot of restraint… as most other Githyanki threaten to kill you horribly on sight, while Lae’zel will just insult you.

I hate this internet trend of labeling everything as autistic

I don’t know when this started, but it’s gotten really annoying to me seeing people label basically any hobby, personality trait, or social quirk as “autistic.”

Someone can be socially awkward, have a really niche hobby, or be extremely obsessed with one particular thing and not be autistic. Likewise, someone can be autistic and it might not be immediately obvious at all.

There’s nothing wrong with noticing certain traits in yourself and wondering if they mean something, but having quirks isn’t a diagnosis. Sometimes it feels like people are labeling things just for the sake of labeling them, when really it might just be part of someone’s personality.

Sometimes a person just really likes that one weird hobby. It doesn’t have to mean anything deeper than that.

Attack Dogs that are immune from all Consequences

The Mountain (Game of Thrones) Gregor can rape, murder, pillage, and butcher civilians, and everybody knows it. But because he’s terrifyingly effective and useful to House Lannister, meaningful punishment almost never comes.

The 4th Crusade (IRL) Became a rogue military force that turned on people it was never supposed to attack. Instead of reaching its intended target, the Crusaders attacked fellow Christians at Zara and then sacked Constantinople in 1204, looting and brutalizing one of Christianity’s greatest cities. Sure, the Christian world condemned them, but nobody could really punish them as the Crusaders divided up the Byzantine Empire amongst themselves and became the new ruling class.

The Minotaurs (40k) They openly serve the High Lords of Terra, and other Space Marines may despise them, but that doesn’t matter much because the High Lords supply the Minotaurs with all the best equipment and protect them from the consequences of every atrocity they commit.

Criminals that act very professional

Lawson (Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul) is an illegal gun dealer, and in almost every scene he’s in, he is calm and polite. He lets his customers test the weapons and gives them advice and other recommendations, and he doesn’t even really have a threatening demeanor.

The Cleaners (John Wick) They come to John Wick’s house quote a price, remove bodies, and leave the house spotless. Charlie their head guy especially treats quickly getting rid of bodies like a professional contracting business.

Gallus (Skyrim) The former head of the thieves guild in Skyrim and from how everyone describes him, Gallus was very scholarly, methodical and treated stealing like an art form.

Characters that got killed off through third medium information

Emily Wong (Mass Effect) She appears in the first two games, but BioWare killed her during a promotional Twitter campaign for Mass Effect 3.

Sagira (Destiny 2) Osiris’s Ghost was killed in “Immolant Part 2,” a prose story posted on Bungie’s website.

Chairon (Space Marines 2) Was killed off in a 40k lore blog post

The younger sibling is more successful or outranks the older sibling

Michael and Freda Corleone (The Godfather) Fredo is Michael’s older brother, but he is considered unreliable and is given very little authority. Michael becomes Don of the Corleone family, making his older brother one of his subordinates.

Roboute Guilliman and Lion El’Jonson (Warhammer 40k) are both Primarch sons of the Emperor… El’Jonson was the 1st Primarch and Guilliman was the 13th… Guilliman, however, is the de facto leader of the Imperium of Man and El’Jonson is basically just a traveling warlord technically subservient to Guilliman.

Joseph (Bible) Was the 11th of Jacob’s twelve sons but was made the head of the family after Jacob died and given a double inheritance compared to his brothers… the two inheritances being named after Joseph’s 2 sons Ephraim and Manasseh.

The great mystery has a very mundane resolution

Wizard of Oz - Everyone treats Oz like this terrifying, godlike wizard. Giant face, smoke, booming voice, total supernatural authority. Then Dorothy finds out he is literally just a regular man behind a curtain using stage tricks.

Face of Mars (IRL) It looked like possible alien architecture in the old 1976 Viking image because of low resolution, shadows, and human pattern-recognition. Then later Mars Global Surveyor images showed it was just a natural rock formation.
