Doctor is defensively wrong but I can't afford to go somewhere else?
He said he doesn't feel comfortable giving me beta blockers due to how bad my fatigue is when it flares up, but I can't get the financial assistance to see the cardiologist (I'm already on sliding scale at my local clinic) but he said I do have POTS (and slightly low Testosterone, am male) after a quick laying-sitting-standing test...but this is where it gets confusing.
When I asked about drinking coconut water for electrolytes and drinking more water to increase blood volume, he got upset at me telling me to stop trying to be "Dr. Google" and said, verbatim, that "fluid intake has NOTHING to do with pots" and then scolded me that taking in too much electrolytes could give myself heart arrhythmias.
God I love the American healthcare system!
I don't even know how I'm going to find work soon since my internet is too unstable for remote work and I don't have a car so I've had to walk in the heat to interviews, which often completely drains me anyway. I've lost my last two jobs due to being seen as lazy or uncaring from either being unable to keep up speed or from constantly needing to sit down and rest to become re-regulated again, before realizing it was POTS.
Combined w lifelong ADHD, it sometimes feels like I was born to fall through the cracks. I don't know what to do
