Traveling to Cancun from USA, fast-track or e-passports?

Hi all! We just came back from Jamaica and LOVED the fast-track option for speeding through immigration.

We are planning an autumn trip to Riviera Maya outside of Cancun...our first trip to Mexico.

I wanted to do fast track but it seems WAY more expensive than Jamaica ($500 pp each way!). Our passports are current, but I was considering renewing and getting e-passports so we can use the kiosks. $130 pp for renewal seems a lot cheaper than fasttrack...but is it worth it?

If anyone has cheaper/reputable fast-track companies for getting through immigration smoothly, this would be our first pick, but if not, is it worth it to upgrade our passports to e-passports so we can use the kiosks?

P.S. We aren't checking bags. We learned from Jamaica this is a PITA with a connecting flight, so will be doing carry-ons only. It's just immigration I am looking to get through quicker. Fyi dates will be octoberish 2026.

Thanks for any tips/guidance!

Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites Question about other Paraiso resorts

Hi! We just came back from Iberostar Rose Hall Selection Suites in Jamaica and loved it. It was tiered on property access, which worked great for us.

We want to go to Iberostar Selection Paraíso Maya Suites this autumn, but I want to make sure I book a resort that gives me the access to the most properties (except Joia/Grande, I'm ok not having that.)

Will Paraiso Maya Suites give me access to all the properties except Joia? (Namely the wing that houses the lazy river pool!)

Also, any tips on location? Iberostar Jamaica was easy to pick a good room but just picking Oceanfront, but I am not as familiar with Paraiso lodging locations. We would like to be closer to the lazy river pool and have a more private setting (aka some coverage from looking right at other units.)

If anyone has any tips on how their tiers rank at Paraiso, and tips on best/worst locations, I'd be grateful. (Reddit tips were a HUGE help on our Jamaica trip!!!)

Thanks all!
