Content Review Notes

I’m currently in the content review phase of studying for the MCAT and I’m struggling with how long it’s taking me to get through each chapter.

Right now I’m using the Kaplan Biology book alongside lecture videos. My workflow is:

* Watch a lecture video and take detailed notes
* Read the corresponding Kaplan chapter and take additional (less detailed) notes
* Do Anki
* Complete the Kaplan end-of-chapter questions
* Review Anki/cards from previous chapters

I think my biggest issue is that I’m trying to develop a really deep understanding of every topic before moving on. Earlier in my studying, I rushed through content, but by the time I got to the later chapters I had forgotten a lot of the earlier material. Now I feel like I’ve overcorrected and am spending too much time on each chapter.

For example, I’ve spent about 7 days getting through the first 3 Kaplan Biology chapters.

My questions are:

* How well should I know a chapter before moving on?
* Did you take notes, or just rely on Anki and practice questions?
* At what point do you stop reviewing content and trust that UWorld/AAMC practice will fill in the gaps?

For context:

* I’m planning to take the MCAT in December or January.
* I haven’t taken Biochemistry or Physics II yet (I’ll be taking both this fall).
* My goal score is 516+.
* I took the free scored full-length as a diagnostic before starting content review and scored a 504 (124/126/127/127). I’ve attached the score report.

I’m not necessarily worried about the amount of work I’m putting in, I just want to make sure I’m studying efficiently and not spending too much time trying to master every detail before moving on.

120 sale

Yesterday I found the xtreme 3 for a crazy deal but decided not to get it because it wouldn’t be a big difference from my charge 6 and I wanted to hold out for a PartyBox sale. Next day I see that the 120 is on the biggest sale I’ve seen it on in awhile. Had my fingers crossed for a 320 but a 120 for less than $300 is really good imo.

QUICK: should I get it?

At the store and saw this xtreme 3 for $112. Would this be worth getting considering I already have a charge 6?

JBL clip 5

Not a thorough review just thought I’d share.

Went to target and found this guy on sale for $39.99 so I picked it up. I thought it would be nice to bring places that I don’t want to bring my charge 6. I am actually very impressed with the volume and sound quality. Definitely not anything crazy but it packs much more of a punch than I expected.

120 vs 130?

From what I’ve seen the real world comparisons between the 120 and 130 are underwhelming. Does anyone have any thoughts on if it would be worth getting the 130 or if it would be better to get the 120 while it’s on sale for $299?
