Apostille Update Doubt

Hey guys, I have a small doubt regarding my FH JOANNEUM documents.

I originally submitted my Bachelor’s degree with an apostille during the application and it was accepted. Later, because FH St. Pölten required SDM/state-level verification, I got the same original degree verified again and received another apostille in January 2026.

I did not upload this newer version to FH JOANNEUM before the 29 June legalisation deadline.

Now for enrolment, I’ll be carrying the same original degree but with the additional SDM verification and second apostille on it.

Has anyone had a similar situation? Do you think FH JOANNEUM will just accept the updated version at enrolment, or could they consider it late because I didn’t upload the newer scan before 29 June?

Austria Student Residence Permit (Intention Of Rejection)

Hi everyone,

I applied for an Austrian Residence Permit – Student from India around 3 months ago and recently received a Parteiengehör / intention to reject, mainly because of my financial proof.

The authority had concerns because:

  • I originally submitted an education loan as proof of funds.
  • I also submitted a support declaration from my maternal uncle.
  • The authority said the loan was not considered my own funds.
  • They also did not consider my uncle’s support declaration strong enough.
  • Because of this, they said my maintenance was not proven/secured.

To solve this, I submitted a written response within the deadline and added new documents:

  • My mother is now my primary sponsor.
  • My mother had sufficient funds in her bank account for around 3 months.
  • She transferred around EUR 13,000 equivalent to my personal bank account.
  • I already had some funds, so my total personal balance is now around EUR 17,000 equivalent.
  • I submitted my own bank statement and balance certificate.
  • I submitted my mother’s bank statement and balance certificate.
  • I submitted a sponsor/gift declaration saying the money is freely available to me and does not need to be repaid.
  • I explained the source of funds as money from property/business-related proceeds connected with a partnership firm.
  • I submitted documents related to the property sale/source of funds.
  • My mother still has enough money left after transferring funds to me.

The authority confirmed that they received my emails and documents and said the documents are being checked.

My question: Did I do the right thing by moving the funds to my own account and submitting my mother’s sponsorship/source documents? Is this usually enough to fix a financial objection in an Austrian student residence permit case, or should I expect another clarification request?
