Need help with my marimo (?)

Ordered them off ebay last year. They were more clumps than balls, and fell apart into these small chunks of moss that I reroll by hand every now and again. I kept a few in a small glass bottle at work and would roll them around every morning, and they kept their round shape. I've since given that bottle to a friend so I don't know what became of them.

I haven't really cared for them this past year (kept them in a closed jar on my nightstand) but I've vowed to start now. I've ordered a small aquarium pump to help roll them around, I am going to give them ice every now and again, and I will move them outside in the winter. Currently, the nightstand is the only option, but the light there is limited. Is there anything else I can do? Tia!

Made a magnifier card holder for r36s

A quick make for my dad so he can play without straining his eyes too much. It's compatible with a 18x12cm magnifier card available for cheap on Aliexpress. The card is superglued into the slots (try not to get glue everywhere like I did), and I also glued two layers of craft foam on each side so the holder stays in place on the console. It doesn't work without the foam.

Do NOT glue to the console! The holder is designed to sit just above the shoulder/trigger buttons and just below the reset and volume down buttons.

"R36S" won't turn on

EDIT: it works! I followed the advice from https://www.reddit.com/r/R36S/comments/1v8cqft/nothing_works_on_soysauce_device_y3506_v05/ then renamed es.input.cfg to es.input.cfg.old in root/etc/emulationstation and it allowed me to remap the buttons.

I was sooo careful but apparently I bought a clone, and not even a good one at that (it wasn't cheap either, the same price as my original one). It won't turn on. It charges when plugged in, and the battery works and its 100% full (tested on my console). Stock SD was DOA, but I tried one of mine and still nothing.

Can anyone help? I bought this as a gift for my dad's bday and I don't have time to order another, nor do I want to accidentally buy another dud. I'm taking this as an opportunity to learn some more about microelectronics. I have a very rudimentary knowledge, but no soldering equipment.

Posting some pics of the pcb. I'm sorry for them being so blurry, I don't know what happened. The chip next to the power and reset buttons says FORESEE.

Streaming Steam via Sunshine/Moonlight

Hi! I tried to play a game from my Steam library by streaming to my r36s but I can't seem to get it working. Can someone help?

The console and my laptop connect no problem, stream starts, Steam opens on my laptop, but the screen on my r36s turns bright green and nothing happens. No image, no sound. Eventually Sunshine will simply crash.

I'm on dArkOS (dArkOSre hasnt been tested for V22 yet), and I have copied the missing libraries into my port folder, although I don't see them on the console). My laptop is a pretty ancient Lenovo Ideapad running KDE Fedora.

EDIT: There is sound.

Made a shoe

Every single shoe I wear gives me killer blisters so I figured I'd just make a pair myself. Sole is a cork insole + a thin piece of cardstock + faux leather. I traced another pair of sandals I like. Uppers are crocheted, everything is hand sewn (ow). I added some fabric to make the crocheted parts less floppy. The elastic that goes around the ankle is a piece of a cut up headband.

Now to make the other shoe...

Console with biggest screen

My dad loves my R36S so I would like to get him his own. He's pushing 70, so his eyesight is understandably not great. Is there anything similar to R36S, but with a bigger screen? I don't really care if it's a clone (as long as it's not one of the shitty ones). TIA!

Made a case for my ereader from the box it came in

Let me start by saying that the main selling point about the XTEINK X4 for me was its low price. If you like/bought it because of its size, this will not be your jam. I originally planned on 3D printing a case, but seeing the box that looked like a cute little book, I knew I needed to do something with it.

First, I removed the tray that the reader was nestled in, then wrapped the cover with fabric I had at home. I stuck a piece of self adhesive foil on the inside of the cover to hide the creases where I glued the fabric down.

Then, I stuck the tray back into place (I used thin double sided tape for everything). I wrapped the thin box that held the magnets and the screen protector in the same fabric as the cover, then stuck it into the tray. I left the magnets inside and they hold the ereader in place. I stuck the foam frame down, cutting off a small bit for easier access to the power button.

Because I am currently obsessed with drawing small flowers, I needed to add some to the cover. I painted the spine black. This was all done with acrylic markers.

Finally, I took an old jewelry bag that fit the case perfectly, and sewed it onto the back cover with a simple stitch. Added small flowers (of course). My reading light lives in there when not in use.

Because the fabric made the whole thing bulkier, the cover won't stay closed on its own, so I added a velcro closure.

I'm super happy with it! The cover gives me something to clip the light on, and I actually like the added bulk, as it's easier for me to hold. A cute lil project if you want a cheap, custom case, and you have some craft materials already at home.

I've been using the stock SD card for 4 months ...

I had every intention of replacing the stock card as soon as my console arrived but somehow just ... Never got to it? I got my R36S in February and I've been using and abusing the console daily. Putting games, movies, music, an ereader onto it, personalizing everything I possibly can ... My console doesn't have wifi so I have to copy directly onto the card from my computer.

Apparently I'm one of those people who love tinkering/finding out what can be done with it more than actually playing, although I've put quite a lot of hours into Spyro as well. I've also printed a case for the console, I'm thinking of printing a grip, of painting the housing, buying some thumbstick grips...

Anyway, I've probably taken the card out of the console more than 200 times since I've had it but I still haven't had a single problem (other than 32gb not being enough haha). Has anyone had the stock card actually poop out on them or has everyone just been scared out of not replacing? Just curious.

I do keep a computer copy of everything that is on my console just in case.

Game recs?

Hi! I've had this console for a while and I've played my ps1 childhood favorites: Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, The Emperor's New Groove, Tombi, etc. I don't know any other games that this console supports. Nowadays I'm into games like Fallout, Portal, Life Is Strange, The Room... Any similar games that would run on my R36s? Thanks!
