The Creepiest Illusion at the V&A!!

Just discovered one of the creepiest things in the V&A! If you want a seriously thrilling experience, go there after dark, stand in front of the V&A, and look at the reflection in the water, it genuinely looks like there’s a staircase going down into the water. Such a weird illusion, but somehow it creates so much fear! Look at the pictures I just captured. 👻

Photos don’t do it justice, go and see it for yourself after dark!

Unmarried Partner Visa: Can sponsor hold dual tenancies (Student Accommodation + Joint Private Lease)?

Hi everyone,

Applying for the UK Unmarried Partner Visa in April 2027 (switching from a Graduate Visa).

Our Situation:

Applicant: On a Graduate Visa. I meet the £29k financial requirement through a Senior Waiter salary (£28,343 base) + a formal, taxed tronc system.

Sponsor: Holds ILR (9 years in the UK, Singapore passport). She is a medical student.

Current Arrangement: Living 10 minutes apart in separate tenancies for 2 years due to cultural/religious reasons and parents won't be okay with that. We have a solid evidence to prove a durable relationship.

The April 2027 Strategy:

Due to strict family/cultural reasons, my partner's parents are funding her private student accommodation until June 2028 so they can visit. To meet the visa's "Intention to Cohabit" rule:

  1. We will sign a joint private tenancy agreement in both our names starting April 2027.

  2. She will switch her official paper trail (Bank, Council Tax student exemption) to our joint flat to build the cohabitation record.

  3. She will keep her student room active to stay there when parents visit. On paper, she will hold two tenancies simultaneously.

Questions:

  1. Is it acceptable to the Home Office for the sponsor to hold dual tenancies, provided her official mail/records are registered at our joint private address?

  2. In the cover letter, should we just present the joint lease as our permanent home, without mentioning the secondary student room?

Want to ensure this is legally watertight and avoids any misrepresentation risks. Thanks in advance

Which fast food or QSR companies in the UK are currently hiring for shift manager, assistant manager, or trainee manager roles?

Looking for chains actively recruiting external candidates for management positions in fast food restaurants.

I'm currently unemployed and applying for NHS roles across Scotland. For two positions a band 2 and a Band 3 role, I was told the interviews must be attended in person.

I asked if the interviews could be done remotely due to the travel distance and cost, but both requests were declined. When I asked about travel reimbursement, I was told that all travel costs are the responsibility of the candidate.

As someone who is unemployed, paying high train fares (with very limited bus options) just to attend interviews that may or may not lead to a job is a significant financial burden. I’m absolutely willing to relocate and genuinely want to work for the NHS, but these travel costs make the process very difficult.

Interestingly, one practice did agree to switch my interview to Microsoft Teams when I explained that I had an upcoming hospital appointment and they had no other interview slots available. That shows that some flexibility is possible when needed.

Has anyone else experienced this when applying for non-clinical NHS roles?
