Rogue 425 Charcoal Edition
It all started with the cooking grate. The craftsmanship on this is noticeably poor: the underside is badly bent and the welds are terrible, to the point where you have to worry about metal shards ending up in your food.
Okay, I thought to myself, mistakes happen, but...
Then I noticed two small hairs embedded in the paint of the lid thermometer. Yes, directly in the paint. At first they looked like scratches, but they are actual small hairs trapped under the finish that cannot be removed (see pictures).
To be safe, I then inspected the lid and found two very small bubbles or blemishes in the enamel coating. They are very small, but considering the price, it’s frustrating. It got even worse when I looked at the back of the lid. The workmanship there is really poor, and it’s questionable whether it will even hold up over time. Wavy metal and a hole in the enamel? Either way, it looks very poorly made. Then I looked just below that spot, and that was the final straw for me—there was actually chipped enamel! That is absolutely unacceptable.
There was actually one more issue: the control knob wasn't centered (it was too far to the right), but by that point, I had already completely given up on wanting to keep the device.
How should I handle this in Germany? I am very disappointed in the brand. I feel like just giving up....take it back. This should have been my very first gas grill.
