Thank you for your hospitality Mrs. Draper. In return, let me tell you a joke: Horse walks into a bar, the bartender says "how did your audition go today, Megan?"
Little known fact: this line wasn’t in the script. Allison’s actress improvised it after googling "Jon Hamm college incident" between takes.
My favourite mad men quote that I would embroider on a shirt
S6 E3: I'm tripping over this shot. It looks as if someone photoshopped Jon Hamm's head onto a completely different person's body.
Blows my mind how this event led to Lane Pryce hanging himself
Why I'm quitting "That's what the _ is for" shitposts
Recently my shitposting subreddit ended a long relationship with "That's what the _ is for" shitposts and I’m relieved.
For over 25 hours I've devoted myself to peddling a shitpost for which good work is irrelevant, because people can’t stop themselves from upvoting it. A shitpost that never improves, that causes more people to generate AI slop, and makes genuine shitposters unhappy. But there was karma in it. A lot of karma. In fact, our entire subreddit depended on it. We knew it wasn’t good for us, but we couldn’t stop.
So as of today, r/okbuddydraper will no longer take AI slop. We know it’s going to be hard. If you’re interested in AI generated shitposts, here’s a list of subreddits that do it well: r/okbuddychicanery, r/OkBuddyFresca and r/CirclejerkSopranos.
As for us, we welcome all other shitposts because we’re certain that our best work is still ahead of us.
Sincerely,
Buddy Draper
How it feels watching 'Far Away Places' (S5 E6) on every rewatch
This episode is peak! For me it's the best episode of the series.
It has several amazing moments. Roger's trip was the best depiction of drugs I've seen, especially his cigarette disappearing in a single puff was hilarious.
We see a little horror movie with Megan and Don and witness Psycho Don.
Also I think the ending of the episode is spectacular. Bert Cooper telling Don "This is my business" is such a mic drop moment.
God I love this show!
"Mr. Slattery, your line was 'Then World War 2 came and their lives were taken by the Japanese soldiers'"
Anyone else feel like it came out of nowhere that Don and Ken Cosgrove were the same guy?
I have this uncanny ability of assuming anyone's identity. In case you don't make it, I'll become Roger Sterling and roam those hillsides.
This sub is like someone's faded memory of a shitpost, and the shitposts are fading... it's like there was never anything here but Father Gill and Joan's accordion shitposts.
Still not over this scene. I felt so bad for Guy MacKendrick when he realized he was British :(
Don seemed like a completely different person before marrying Birdie
If Dick Whitman hadn't changed his name to Don Draper, would he still have achieved all his wealth and status?
If he had survived the war and kept his real name, would he have become the same person? Or was it really necessary for him to reinvent himself from scratch, even changing his name?
