​BA 2nd year student Ujjwal Rana set himself on fire inside the campus after being humiliated and beaten by principal Pradeep for not paying ₹7,000 in pending fees.

​Before the act, Ujjwal said, "Main fees nahi de paya, toh principal ne kaha baap se bolo jameen bech kr paise de warna mera exam form jama karne se rok denge.(I wasn't able to pay the fees, so the principal told me to ask my father to sell the land and pay, otherwise they will stop my exam form from being submitted.)
