I would like to take a moment and say that this series has made me a huge fan of sci-fi even more than before.

The dark forest theory created for fiction has actually made it to the real world and scientists are actually considering this theory too.

This series shows us how something so simple for us such as “thought” can literally decide who wins against another species. The tris were ahead in tech but they never stood a chance against us. They never saw coming that we humans would rather sacrifice ourselves rather than give up and become slaves.

Amazing book and this post is just about how great the idea is in general.

Yes there are parts where it does not read well but the 4th dimension scene… perfectly executed

Me and my wife (business partners) have a healthcare business amd we take home between $45-65k a month. Depending on the month obviously but never less than $40k.

We purchased the business for $600k and we both have student loans that are about $400k (both of us combined)

We have a 1yo and in about 4-6mo we plan to try for a second.

My mental block is that my wife wants us to upgrade to a house (we currently rent and pay about $2.4k) but I cannot even think about adding more debt…

I will say, we do need the space as living in an apartment complex does have it’s challenges like taking our dog out everytime for #1-2 / trash / parking / not having a backyard etc… but we live in a state where a move in house ready could be around $600-700k

I do want to upgrade but I am struggling with the debt part.

Any words of advice would be very helpful.

(We do not have any other debts other than the business loan and the student loans)

EDIT - Our TAKE HOME (profits / pre-tax) avg about $50k. Some months are high and we can take home $65k and some months are low to about $40k in take home pay.
