need some insight!
for context, i take a really early bus (SBS) in the morning to get to work and it’s usually just me or one or two other people waiting for the bus.
this one day last week, i was waiting for the bus with two other people and the bus drives up and i try to get in through the back, following one of the other people. before i can get onto the bus (i was maybe a foot behind the other guy), she shuts the door on me and drives away. i manage to catch up to the bus as she’s waiting for the red light, and i knock on the door, and she looks over, kind of pissed. she opens the door and i say “hey, you shut the door on me earlier” and she says “well you’re supposed to get on through the front.” it’s a SBS, isn’t the point that you can get on through any door? and there aren’t many passengers either. the reason i always walk to the back is because that exit is the closest to where i have to go. as im pulling out my money card to pay, she says “just go” in an annoyed tone and shoos me away.
yesterday i see who i assume is the same lady. i am the only person waiting, i get on through the back and take a seat as im trying to find my omny card to pay… and she plays the “attention passengers, a fare is required to ride… etc” and im baffled. was that intentional? is that automatic? or did she press that announcement intentionally? mind you, the rest of the ride many other people come onto the bus and they don’t pay their fare and they don’t get that announcement.
so i’m wondering if somehow i’ve antagonized this bus driver that i have to see every day that i go to work lol (i only ride the bus a few times a week since im in healthcare and only work a couple times a week)
thanks. wondering if there’s a certain point where she can be reported or something if need be. i have so much respect and appreciation for the bus drivers and subway conductors that keep the city running but it’s just disheartening to be antagonized like this for no reason :( makes it quite uncomfortable to have to see her on my way to work.
