We need more Limited/Rush routes in and out of Manhattan into the surrounding Boroughs.

The Hub, Williamsburg, LIC, places that aren't too strong via train connection

Williamsburg only has 3 trains which are all congested running into Manhattan, and two of them (the L and the J) both require a transfer to reach uptown trains to Midtown.

LIC is way too close to Midtown to not require a bus route running there.

Anybody saying that there doesn't need to be any routes connecting to the surrounding neighborhoods across the bridges are just biased idiots. Like your trying to tell me the bus shouldn't be going over there because it has to cross bridges?

Proposal (Bx51 GH)

Seeing other proposals within this subreddit, I decided to make a proposal for an opinion, the bx51 would operate between Mount Vernon (Petrillo) & Pelham Pkwy (5) via Laconia Av, Baychester Av & White Plains.

2008 Westchester Bee (NY) Orion V still going strong!

These are some of the Orion Vs ever made and supposedly the last diesel ones ever. It seems like only 20-30 are still in service only on the BxM4C route from White Plains to Madison Square Park, Midtown Manhattan. I always love seeing them! Picture taken at E 79th/5th today.

What is the purpose of this thing?

Why isn’t there any luggage storage on the bus? And wouldn’t this spot be perfect for a small vertical luggage rack?

Anybody with some experience, question (TA bus operator)

Applied for TA bus operator, took the test, did everything, got put on hold by the MAC on day 2 of pre employment.
Weird thing is I never got a list number, and I was asking around and it seems like that happened to a lot of guys around me. They did say in the email that I was being considered to be sent to training on July 12th pending medical evaluation.

3 days ago I got put on hold at the end of the physical cause they flagged me for a nerve damage thing at the very end when I was in with the doc. Already went to the specialist and got him to agree to clear me, waiting on paperwork now.

So I guess I have two questions

  1. What’s this never getting a list number thing? Is that gonna end up helping or hurting me? Cuz I know that number matters here. Checked my OAsys portal many times and I def never got one.

  2. From the little I was told it seems like once I get through the hold with this paperwork all I got left is to go to HR, and then I guess they’ll inform me of my start date for training via email or something? Idk. Anybody here with recent experience in this?

Route Proposal BX37 Astoria - Port Morris / Mott Haven

I did pretty well with my last express bus route proposal for the Bee Line. The only consistant complaint was that the Bee Line wouldn't have the money for it.

Anyways, if you've been to Astoria, Randalls Island, Port Chester or Harlem, you know that you can access all 3 boroughs via use of the Triborough/RFK bridge. However, one thing ive noticed is that from the queens side, theres no way to get into the bronx without having to go all the back to Manhattan which is unfortunate because theres definetly a decent number of people who need to go from queens to the bronx all the time. I see it when a horde of people come off the M60 at lexington to crowd the 4, 5 and 6 trains.

Im thinking a route called the BX37 could help alleviate crowding on the lexington av lines by offering folks an alternative comming from Queens to continue there trip via bus or get on the subway at a later less congested stop via the bus.

For its stops in Queens, it can honestly just have one stop, which would be Hoyt Av, 31 st. It's also easier for the operator to loop around to the other direction in this area since it's a service road. Also, other routes cover the Astoria neighborhood well enough + N and W trains are nearby.

Then it'll go on the bridge and use I-278 to head into the Bronx onto 138 St and make additional stops on 138 St until it reaches its terminal, 3 Av 138 St. I know its a short route but it's again just meant to connect 2 boroughs and connect to the other lengthier routes nearby.

Available Bus and subway connections: (N), (W), (6), <6>, BX1, BX2, M60 SBS, Q19, M125, BX21, BX33, BX32

Scheduling: I think that 1 trip every 30 minutes would suffice. It's not a long route, and it doesn't make too many stops. However, im not opposed to it having a rush hour only schedule like the M98 or BX20.

Let me know what you think. It honestly seems like a no brainer that I wouldnt be surprise if the MTA already has a route like this in the works.
