railway track, train stripes, and other details using cushions

you can use cushions to hold together bogies, act as railway ties, get smoother slopes, act as ceiling storage racks, look like antennas, and much more! of course they can always just be seats too!

built a train using cushions! (also interior)

JR east E233-3000 takasaki line

the cushions made for great stripes and helped to put together the wheels as well as small details such as roof panels

it is definitely useful when detailed areas are very tight such as within the train itself. Of course, they can be used as seats, but they also function as storage racks above the seats!

How do we reserve a room in Morgridge Hall? It isn't in EMS currently.

We are trying to reserve some rooms for student org events, but we cannot find a way to reserve it. Even the event services email was unable to help us.

i drew pixel art of every public transit vehicle ever in this town

or at least all that i could find... there are varying accounts of which vehicles existed, and the historical society was a huge help! A lot of the photos out there had been recolored from black and white, sometimes inaccurately, which made it difficult to guesstimate the colors of the older ones, but I think i did an ok job at interpreting them.

Some models also had multiple paint jobs throughout the years so it was interesting to see what the branding was like in the past. Interestingly, the latest livery with the white, sky blue, and dark blue, is actually closer to the original color scheme when buses first started being used!

Realistic Railway Switches and Signals in CS1

It felt weird that tracks just morphed together, so i separated them in a realistic way. The signal is based on the JR Hokkaido signal, and allows the light to remain visible even in heavy snow.

I visited our sister city, Obihiro, Japan!!

their city completely mogs us in the railway department, but we are sister cities due to our shared agriculture background and climate. The city's government office had a little gallery with some of our stuff like a bascom hill flamingo, frank lloyd wright windows, and a bowl(?) from our mayor, Satya Rhodes-Conway.
