Not an MTA Operator but an NJT operator, I cant help but notice when Im in NY that every MTA bus has red and white tape on both mirrors. I there a specific reason why they have that tape on there? Is it to tell if an operator hit their mirror on anything and caused damage?!
2 months ago me and my girlfriend went apartment shopping, after searching for awhile we found one that we both liked and applied for it. We were approved and she went ahead and paid the security deposit through what’s called a “Guarantor” (which we were refunded) and I went ahead and paid the first months rent.
The apartment management has been nothing but a hassle, they “accidentally” gave away our apartment and told us they would have another unit with the same layout and rent price but it was a month away. We decided to wait 1 month, fast forward to last week me and my girlfriend decided that we didn’t want to move into this apartment anymore so we went to the property manager and told her our problems. She was understanding we were able to get a refund for our security deposit.
Today they tell us that they are not going to refund the first month rent.. Here’s the kicker, I myself never signed the lease, only my girlfriend was able to sign it and I expressed this to them in an email but they of course never responded. I asked this question to chat gpt but I honestly want a human answer. What are the chances that I get my money back when I never even signed the lease but my girlfriend did?
