AITAH for ending it while she's traumatized

I, 23M, just broke up with my new partner 23F.

We had been hooking up for about two months before making it official last month.

During our time together things were mostly very pleasant. But she would randomly say super rude and dismissive things.

When I first asked if she was looking to be together she said this meant nothing, and that she was a whore (provenly, not even true)

Then apologized later, after a break from this, saying she didn't mean it, and was just overwhelmed by not knowing my feelings. And didn't want to scare me away.

A strange response, but valid enough.

Thinking on it, I decided to get with her, and see if this was a one time thing.

On her own accord, she mentioned she wouldn't kiss her female friends anymore - something they'd do at the bar while drunk. I appreciated her for bringing it up.

Shortly after, meeting these friends, she kissed one anyways.

It was a peck, and I had no aversion. Her friend apologized to me, and I said, just don't let it happen again, easy tone. But it was her response, saying she didn't care what I thought that really bothered me.

She spent hours that night looking for my approval that we were fine when I just wanted to sleep.

In general, I felt like verbally, she was quite selfish. But her actions spoke particularly otherwise, so it all seemed to even out - at least that's felt at the time.

During this time, we also began to grow apart physically. First not sleeping together, and eventually not even kissing. Something that I didn't interrogate, but eluded to confusion over, as she was very sexually forward in person and on text.

Eventually, during a conversation stemmed from the friend kissing incident, where I asked if she was looking for monogamy, it came up that we had not been physical due to a traumatic event from her teens that occurred during this time of year, which was weighing on her mind.

I consoled her the next few days, when she was in the headspace of this subject. But the more I did, I realized how little she was ever actually effortful in her attempts to hear me on challenges currently occurring in my home. I asked many questions and thought a lot about things she told me about her life. But it never seemed the reverse was applied, aside from an allowance for me to speak when I needed to.

I felt overwhelmed and alone, and with poor communication on the monogamy subject, a bit irrational about the state of our relationship only a month in. As she had said the opposite of what she meant before.

So I ended things, while in the midst of her battle with her issues, and two days before her birthday. I just couldn't bring myself to act like her boyfriend, and meet her childhood friends when I felt this way.

I feel impatient and selfish, yet totally valid for calling things off. I'm conflicted if I did the right thing. And wonder if would have been better to swallow my anxiety and stick it out a few weeks more.

I did offer to be there at this time as a friend, which she refused. But still, my feelings of doubt remain.

AITAH?
