What could I do differently as a seller?
I’m selling a camper shell for a pickup truck. The dimensions of the shell are in the title of the ad. Multiple people came to look at it—one from over an hour away—with trucks that were wildly bigger (like over a foot longer) than the shell, so it’s not that they measured differently—they just didn’t measure. Then I started responding to any inquiry about availability with “Yes, have you measured your truck?” and sending them pics of the measuring tape against the shell so they can see exactly how I measured. Still, we’ve had multiple people show up with trucks that were not even in the ballpark of the right size.
What could I do differently? I didn’t list the make//model of the truck it came from in the ad because that model had multiple bed options, and there are other trucks with the same bed dimensions that it would fit. Should I raise the price? I think that might cut down on people thinking “it’s worth a shot.” Thoughts?
