Hi, I’m just getting into cycling and could use some advice.

I want one bike I can ride to work during the week and take on gravel and forest tracks at weekends. Budget is under CHF 1000 all in. I’m size M.

I’m not naming any models because I’ve read too many reviews and still have no idea what actually matters.

What would you buy at this budget?
Is used the smarter option here, and if so where do you look and what should I check?

Anything beginners usually get wrong that I should know before I spend the money?
