At what percentage is “cash-back” better than points??
I’m newer to this hobby and I have 9 cards rn closed 2, 1 was intentional. At what point is cashback better than points?? I am comfortable flying economy and it’s been difficult finding economy flights at values worth more than 2-3 cpp. I can easily get 10-20% cashback buying gift cards for “some” places I eat out at. Not all. I guess I’m looking at it more of each spend I have is a ROI. If I don’t organically have to spend I won’t unless I can get an insane deal on cap1 offers or moneymakers or something like on Rakuten or cap1 shopping. At what point is miles actually better? I see signup bonuses at 10-25% roi similar to buying some gift cards so I see the benefit in that but anything under 5x doesn’t add up much unless I’m spending a ton of money. Can someone tell me if I’m thinking about this wrong?? I’m 23 and most my money I save is going straight to brokerage and Roth IRA
