Best Signup Bonus for a Single Large Purchase?

Hi everybody, not posting in the recommended template because I don’t think it’s needed for this request. Let me know if I should though.

I have a single, large purchase coming up (probably around $15,000) and am looking for suggestions on the best credit card signup bonus I could get for this. It is not a travel related expense.

Thank you for the help!

Big purchases coming up + High Credit score - What's the best welcome bonus in 2026?

I have a couple of home improvement purchases to make and looking at all the credit cards nowadays is making my eyes spin. What's a good simple one to move beyond just the chase freedom unlimited and a few of the default 3x cashback cards?

Capital One Venture X vs Chase Sapphire Preferred?

I’ve read a handful of blogs and online websites comparing the facts of the benefits of each, can anyone provide any insight into their experience with each and whether they’re happy with their choice or would switch?

What happens if I pay off all my credit cards and don’t get a new one

Basically as the post says I recently paid off all my credit cards and closed my accounts it tanked my score a bit will it ever go back up if I just never bother it again or is there a way for me to increase my credit without opening another card I’m going overseas for a few years and I just don’t really need them open.

I own my car out right so I don’t think that will help I should’ve asked before paying it all but I didn’t really think there would be a downside

How long does it take Chase FF to update the current balance?

I made a 500 payment recently, and my balance hasn't decreased at all.

What's the typical timeline for payments to show in Current Balance? I made a $500 payment on 5/18, CB is still high.

Please help, need a credit card, car got towed

I had temporary plates on my car that expired, didnt have enough money to get plates at that moment so I had put my Dad's old plates on my car temporarily because I had to drive somewhere to do something important. I got pulled over, my car got towed. I'm 22, I have zero credit history so I can't take out a loan. The longer my car sits in that lot, the more expensive it is. I can't afford to let it sit for too long. It's already been two days, my goal is to get it by Saturday. I have an appointment for registration on friday. But that plus the fine I have to pay is my entire paycheck.

My question is, are there any credit card companies that will allow an instant use digital credit card? And would i be able to use it to pay for something like this in person, or is it only online purchases? I know Discover offers one, but im not sure if I need to already have an account with them and if it is possible to use the digital card in my Google wallet, to pay for things in person. And if that's not possible, is there any way for me to transfer credit card money to my bank or cashapp or anything really. I've heard its possible with some companies but there's a fee. I live in CT, not sure if different states have different rules for credit cards.

I run a business using primarily Sam’s club and Costco business warehouse supplies (food related). What card would benefit me most?

Hey all - basically what the title says. I’m just looking to maximize my return on spend that happens monthly. I get catering supplies/ingredients from both warehouses and the Costco business center as well as other restaurant suppliers (restaurant depot, seasoning companies etc)

I will also add I have not had a visa in years - I have 2 chase bank accounts and had multiple credit cards through them for the bonuses(ink preferred etc)but all except my debit cards and bank accounts were all closed after I had to file a ton of disputes for a large sum against a contractor who did a foundation repair on my house incorrectly and went MIA. They ruled in favor of me but to this day I believe chase has deemed me too high a liability or similar to open more credit cards.

Thanks for any advice!

I mistook CreditOne for Capital One as I'm very tired and now I have the awful 5x Platinum card

I absolutely need to cancel this card. I thought I was going to get $2500. This is just a warning to make sure to do your research as I thought this was a Capital one card as the logo looked very similar. They honestly shouldn't be allowed to do this. It's on me for opening it but I'm not about to pay $95 per year on this card with a $400 total credit limit.

I'm guessing I can't get it off my report? I imagine I should get my AF back since it's the same day I opened it right?

I tested 6 business credit cards, this one is my proven favorite with cashback and built-in perks

Hi everyone! I’m a small e-commerce business owner who’s been running my business for almost 10 years. I’ve analyzed and experimented with numerous business credit cards for different spending categories and patterns I go through as part of my daily business operations.

Every other day I see people asking for their favorite business credit cards to maximize rewards and cashback across different categories, get travel benefits, get banking benefits, and more, so I decided to make this list from me and my business owner friends' experiences.

I’ve tested the Chase Ink Business Unlimited and Preferred, American Express Business Gold, Flex Visa Infinite, Amazon Business American Express, and a few others… The Flex Visa Infinite though lesser known honestly impresses me a lot with the rewards and ecosystem.

I get up to 1.75% unlimited cashback (depending on when I pay it off) but the financial platform that comes with it is great. It feels good to use, from their expense management to their AP automation software.

If you want more tips or details let me know!

I do NOT have any incentive or referral link for any of these cards

Am I wrong for getting a secret credit card?

I’m 21F and a full-time student athlete, so holding down a job during the school year is pretty much impossible for me. My mom helps support me right now, but she constantly drops comments about being tired of paying for me. It honestly makes me feel incredibly guilty and I just want to stop leaning on her so much.

I recently got pre-approved for a Discover IT student card and I’m planning to keep it a total secret from my parents to avoid family drama.

My plan is to use it strictly for basic food and transit during a 2-week out-of-state internship I have coming up in June. That way, I won't have to ask her for a single dime while I'm away.

As soon as I get back, I start a summer job working 35-40 hours a week ($12/hour) I plan to use my check to pay the card back to $0 immediately then just freeze the card and hide it in a drawer for the school year.

I feel like this is a super responsible way to get some independence and give her the financial break she's literally asking for, but I still have this lingering guilt about hiding it.

Am I doing the right thing for my own peace of mind, or is this a bad idea that's gonna backfire? Has anyone else had to do something similar?

Chase Freedom Unlimited — Will I get approved?

So I recently learned that whenever you apply for something, banks view AU history as separate compared to when it’s your own card. I recently turned 18 but I have 5 years of AU history on 2 cards, each. My credit score of Chase journey is a 777. Will I get approved for a freedom unlimited, or should I stick to something like a freedom rise or the SavorOne?

Bankruptcy Discharged - Any Tips on How Not to Fall Into CC Debt?

After almost ten years of credit card debt that started when I was the victim of fraud at 18, I finally have my debt discharged. Now that I've been granted a clean slate, does anyone have any tips on how to not fall back into debt? I have just one card, a secured card from Self, Inc that I also had before my discharge (I was able to reapply), and really that's the only card I want as of now.

Is chase still the best ecosystem for travel after the Hyatt point devaluation?

I am looking into getting into the chase ecosystem for travel benefits. How do the other ecosystems compare given the recent devaluation of Hyatt points pricing? Are they still the top dog?

I'm unable to attach a photo of the chart showing the exact changes made, but it is pretty significant. Thanks!

Looking for advice to replace 3 PayPal Debits (Costco/Grocery) for 3-Person Player Setup | $2k-$3k Costco Spend

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on our next moves. We have a 3-person setup (myself, wife, and 19yo kid) and we're trying to figure out our strategy for the next 3–5 months once we finish our current Minimum Spend Requirements (MSR).

With the upcoming PayPal Debit nerf hitting in August, we need a strong replacement for our massive Costco and grocery spend.

The Profiles

  • Income: $220,000 (Combined)
  • FICO Scores: Me: 820–830 | Kid: ~750
  • Oldest Account: 13 Years
  • Chase 5/24 Status: Me: 4/24 | Wife: 6/24 | Kid: 3/24
  • Business Cards: Yes, open to them.

Average Monthly Spend

  • Groceries/Costco: $2,000 – $3,000 (Mainly Costco)
  • Dining: $100
  • Gas: $200
  • Non-Category: $2,000 – $3,000
  • Travel: Mostly hotels for kid's sports tournaments (15–20 nights/year, within 3-hour drive). Also 4–5 round-trips a year on Breeze Airways for the college kid.

Current Card Inventory

2x Chase Sapphire Reserve (May 2026 - finishing MSR)

1x Capital One Venture X

2x Chase Sapphire Preferred (2024/2025 - planning to close 1 or both)

1x Robinhood Gold (Current 3% catch-all)

1x Chase OG Freedom (Sock-drawered)

1x Chase Ink Cash (Gas only)

1x Marriott Boundless (Early 2026)

1x Citi Costco (Gas only)

1x Hilton Surpass (Kept for Gold Status)

1x Fidelity 2% (Old catch-all)

1x Kroger Card

Discover It (2025)

Capital One Savor (2025)

Capital One Venture (May 2026 - finishing MSR)

Note: 3 PayPal Debits currently being used for Costco/Groceries, but looking to replace.

The Dilemmas & Options We Are Considering

Right now, we are swamped finishing the MSR on two Sapphire Reserves and one Venture card. Once that's done, we need to pivot.

  1. The CSP 3% vs RH Gold 3% Question: Is the 3% Ultimate Rewards on online groceries via the Chase Sapphire Preferred actually better than the 3% flat cash back on the Robinhood Gold if we want to target Hyatt transfers for sports travel?
  2. Option A (Do Nothing): Just lazy-man it and use the Robinhood Gold for 3% cash back at Costco.
  3. Option B (The Easy Button): Apply for the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve (USBAR). Use Apple Pay/Mobile Wallet at Costco for 3x points (effectively 4.5% back toward travel via Real-Time Rewards).
  4. Option C (More Work / Higher Yield): Apply for the Bilt Obsidian Mastercard. Buy $25k in Costco Shop Cards online to trigger the 3x grocery/wholesale category, giving an effective 4.33% back in high-value Bilt/Hyatt points.
  5. Option D (The Gift Card Grind): Grab another Chase Ink Business Cash. Hit Office Depot/Staples during fee-free Visa Gift Card weeks, buy VGCs at 5x UR, and use them physically at Costco. Similar to the old PayPal method but more tedious.
  6. Side Note: Also considering the U.S. Bank Cash+ strictly to lock down 5% on Utilities and Gym.

What path makes the most sense for our spend profile and goals? Open to any and all suggestions!

Amex BCP $300 bonus offer, but being charged annual fee

Hi, I just signed up for this card, had it about a month. I recently saw they have charged me a $95 membership fee…. I signed up based on the $300 bonus offer, and first year annual fee of $0. I talked to a rep, and they said I just have the $300 bonus offer on my account. The rep was not too convincing… I posted the terms and conditions to the rep, which doesn’t say the bonus and first year $0 fee are mutually exclusive. The offer seems materially misleading, based on the membership fee charge. I guess they can tell after one month of activity that I’m going to hit the $3k threshold, and not be a debtor that they can charge high interest/fees. Anyone else dealt with this type of issue with Amex?

Amex Blue Business Cash Approval DP

After a week of looking at business credit card options, I pulled the trigger on the Blue Business Cash for my LLC. Applied using EIN and SSN and was instantly approved with $2000 SL.

Useful Data:
Chase 5/24: 1/24
Number of Hard Inquiries in last 24 months: 2
Income: $20k gross, $8500 of that from LLC
FICO Scores with sources: 739 EX (direct), 751 TU (C1 CreditWise), 766 EQ (MyFICO)
Number of Personal Revolvers: 3 with oldest opened in December 2021

Personal CR was SPed since business file is still young and limited information. I am reasonably certain they SPed from Experian.
