PC for a designer
Hi All! Thank you in advance 😄
I waited too long to get some parts and prices have increased - just wondering what the best build I can get would be! I bought an AMD Ryzen 9000 series processor already, but nothing else yet
- New build or upgrade?
- New build. I've mostly used laptops for school/work. I'm currently using a laptop, a Razor Blade 15.
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
- I have this monitor, but I'd like to get another, doesn't have to be the same one though. The higher resolution the better since I take high res screenshots for work.
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
- I'm a designer and mostly work in 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator. Moreso than rendering, my current laptop, a Razor Blade 15, slows down when navigating in the file itself (moving the camera, trying to rotate objects, etc), so whatever would help with that (not sure if that's CPU or GPU). I usually work with pretty large files. I've used up all of the memory on my C drive, so I use an external HD for most of my programs >_< I game, but it's mostly wow or indie games.
- Purchase country?
- US and yes, I'm near a Microcenter!
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
- I need one more, at least 2k, ideally 4k (I take high res screenshots for work), I already have this one. I think I'd like to keep it at the same size though (27") unless someone has a recommendation for an amazing monitor!
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
- Ideally 3.5k or less? I can go up to 4k if it's a huge upgrade though.
- WiFi or wired connection?
- WiFi
- Size/noise constraints?
- Would love it if it's quiet and midsize
- Color/lighting preferences?
- Not really, white or wood would be nice, but I don't really care unless it's hideous haha
- Any other specific needs?
- Nothing super heavy, I've never built a computer before or done anything similar, but a friend told me it was as easy as putting legos together, so I'm going to give it a try haha.
- At least 2T of HD space would be nice!
Thank you!
- Livka
