[Combatants Will Be Dispatched] Grimm was decapitated. And that was funny in the manga.

I don't know if it counts as a spoiler since it's the second episode of the anime, but anyway, I was rereading the manga and something that amused me was the introduction of Grimm's immortality.

In the anime, the joke comes from the fact that Grimm's death is taken with total seriousness, seeing a fellow soldier die only to find out she can be revived.

But in the manga, the joke is more extended, starting with the fact that when Grimm dies, Snow tells Agent 6 to bring Grimm's body, to which Rokugo thinks, "Ah, right, Grimm is a sorceress, maybe it was all an illusion." Then, when he goes to see Grimm's corpse, her head falls off. Alice then confirms that she's dead.

Then Snow gets frustrated because, in fact, Grimm's resurrection ability was in Grimm's resume, but Rokugo didn't read it. According to the novel and manga, this is later retconned so that Alice can read Grace's language, but Rokugo can't.

And the mangaka tried hard to make it less noticeable, but what Rose is holding is Grimm's head in a bag.

This whole creepy situation reminds me of the humor in Happy Tree Friends.

What I find even more hilarious is that the coloring didn't seem to care about the manga's censorship and still drew his skeletal head with blood on it.

[Combatants will be dispatched] Why doesn't Grimm look for a husband among the Kachiwari tribe?

Make your hypotheses and bets on why Grimm, who seems to be up for anything (in the mini-stories I even consider the Tiger Man), isn't looking for a husband in the indigenous forest tribe.

Is her wheelchair impractical for the forest, and is Grimm too childish to go barefoot, even in mud?

Are the Kachiwari worshippers of the goddess of Time, and since Grimm is a priestess of Zenarith, is this the same situation as a Christian marrying a Muslim?

Did Grimm already try, and in their own way, did the Kachiwari reject her?

Is Grimm racist, and does she similarly not see demons as potential love interests, nor the indigenous people?

[TOMT] [Movie] Horror movie.

A horror movie about a woman who ends up in a mental institution.

At one point, one of the patients in the institution says a variation of "He can have my body, but not my soul."

A detective, or someone following the trail, investigates religious tattoos.

And the movie ends with the woman leaving the institution to see a child being run over, but he isn't actually hit; he's like a ghost. As he walks away, a sign with a picture of the same child reads, "Have you seen Tim? Missing child."

I think the horror in the movie is about playing with your brain; it can deceive you based on things you've seen.

[Artistic freedom] There's no time to do it chronologically; I want the character now.

Something that happens when a character is very popular, or at the time the original novel or manga is developing, they're already part of the protagonists' dynamic. But the anime hasn't yet reached the point of their formal introduction. What to do? Just have them appear.

It's like a variation of the trope: THAT CHARACTER WHO CAME OUT OF NOWHERE WAS ALWAYS THERE.

So we have:

  1. Yunyun appears in the opening of the first season of Konosuba, although she doesn't actually appear, and in the OVA (which came out before the second season where Kazuma meets her), Kazuma only says that she's a crimson demon they ran into a while ago, and everyone knows Yunyun. Therefore, watching the second season and then the OVA (which would be the chronological order) feels strange, reintroducing Yunyun.

  2. Lierre in Jashin-chan Dropkick on My Devil. In the last episode of the second season, Lierre appears alongside her angels without much context and interacts with the others. The third season makes a joke precisely because Pekora doesn't remember seeing Lierre (her child form; theoretically, she's seen her adult form) before, and Jashin is watching the final episode of the second season on TV and is scared that there's another timeline where they met Lierre earlier.

  3. Shampoo from Ranma 1/2: Since the animators adapted the classic anime however they pleased, Shampoo appeared earlier, and I understand that this saved the anime.

  4. Viper appearing at the end of Combatants Will Be Dispatched (which would be volume 2), although canonically he does not appear until volume 5 and because of that, some came to think that Viper at that moment was already the Demon Lord.

[combatants Will Be Dispatched] After learning that Heidi is a diminutive of Adelheid

Adelheid (in German), which translated into Spanish corresponds to Adelaide, The Germanic name Adelheid is composed of two roots: adal (noble) and heid (class, lineage or type).
