Grinding noise/hot strut

I’ve been posting a lot here recently regarding my sonic wake v2, I apologize if it’s too much. It’s been frustrating trying to figure this thing out, as I’ve mentioned prior I’m a new boater.

I’m the last post I mentioned I burnt up my teflon liner, so now I’m running without it and I’m hearing this noise. Stuffing tube is full of grease and I just shimmed the stuffing tube to align the shaft better with the motor. The strut also gets noticeably hot when lightly revving it on the table.

Is there something else I should be checking or should I just do a new flex cable/stuffing tube?

Also, it’s hard to see in the video but it looks like the prop also shifts side to side when given throttle, I’m assuming this is happening because I’m not running a liner but I’m worried this could cause water leakage into the hull?

Sonic wake 36” - Did I just melt my stuffing tube?

Brought her in after a good 5 min spin and it was either smoking or steaming. I couldn’t tell because it smelt like hot electronics but kinda looked like steam. After a quick examination all the electronics look okay and the cooling lines were clear so no overheating. However I noticed around the flex shaft in the hull that the white plastic was missing, and pulling out my shaft revealed that it was covered in little pieces of teflon I believe?

My assumption is that the only thing that would cause this is a lack of grease, which is odd because I just greased it one run prior to this one and I had always greased it the same way. But I’d like to know other opinions on a situation like this as I’m kinda new to rc boats and still figuring some things out.

Also, is the discolouration on the flex shaft something to be concerned about?

Binding flysky radio/reciver

Cant get my radio to connect to my receiver, I’ve already got this radio binded to another receiver in a different buggy but now I’d like to use the same radio my losi 8ight. I’m following the same procedure as last time and nothing is working. I feel like the problem is that the radio won’t switch models as I can set it to any model and it’ll still control the first car I paired it to.

If anyone has experience with these radios I’d like to know what’s going on here. Thanks

Battery short

Was driving my Typhon 6s until the battery strap let go and caused the wires from the battery to get ripped up by my rear axle and started sparking.

It didn’t do it for long, my battery smells and looks fine but I’m worried about it internally/in the long run. My cell checker shows equal voltage across each cell.

What kind of damage does this do to the battery? Should I be fine to throw and new plug on and send it or recycle it and get a new pack.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Need some help, new boater.

Hi all, new to the sub and rc boats in general. I picked up my first rc boat in a long time recently and took it out for a spin about 3 times so far. Today it got stranded in the middle of the river after the drive dog set screw backed out (it wasn’t on the flat spot from factory.) After retrieving it I started it up on my bench to see if it’s better and I noticed this weird noise. I can’t recall if I heard this before, it also feels like there’s a loss in power. (I tried this with 2 different batteries both at full capacity.)

So my questions are:

  1. What is the sound heard in the video at higher rpm?

  2. What are some pre run checks to help prevent getting stranded?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
