Mojave Grom, Castrol Livery

Castrol Baja, 80’s kids will remember that one!

I just finished my first paint job and I’m pretty
happy with how it turned out. I did this with old fashion painters tape. In the next one I’m thinking of trying liquid mask.
Anyway, my question is do y’all think I should drill the holes for the Arrma bumper or leave it as is. I do have another shell that’s for bashing so this guy will be babied.

New to RCs, and the Lipo battery safety scares me

Not gonna lie, doing all this research for proper lipo battery safety has me super scared. I get they won't spontaneously combust just "because", but it's like 80% posts about people being SUPER careful, and 20% of people saying they've used the same batteries for 15 years with no storage protection or anything.

I’ll use this Bat-Safe for charging and storage. It will sit in the basement mostly away from flammable stuff. I don't have many batteries yet, just three. I have the two smaller 1S batteries each in a bag.

Is there anything I should change or do differently? Am I just being paranoid??

Long time no RC lol

Hey yall so I recently re inherited kinda the rc cars and boat me and my dad would use when I was a kid. He spent most of the time modding/building them and I would learn here and there but I would mainly just use them. But it’s been over at least a decade since they’ve seen any asphalt or dirt and I’m just curious to see what yall thought of my dads choices and if f it’s worth keeping these around and giving another spin or just sell to another hobbyist. All the extra parts is stuff he wanted to upgrade and never got to unfortunately so I’m wondering if I should take a jab at it myself too lol. Thanks for lookin!

Learned today that I can actually control my RC Car mid-air!

I’m an absolute newb with RC cars, bought myself a used Reely Dune Fighter with different motor and 3S Lipo’s recently. Started jumping today and discovered you can actually control the air movement to some extent: reverse mid-air pushes the car backwards for instance. Great hobby 😄🤙

A little something I’m/I’ve been working on.

I’ve been working on this thing for over 2 years now going back and forth on how to make it work.
I don’t know how to weld or have a welder so it’s all riveted and brazed, don’t judge me. Even tho the bed is aluminum it’s still heavy af. I’m waiting on a brx01 AWB to extend and see if it fits (Hopefully it does and looks good).
It’s around 31 inches in length altogether. And the wheelbase is a monstrous 19 inches. I’m still working on it. When will it be done and ready? I don’t know. But hopefully soon.

Would you still be into RC cars if you had nobody to run them with?

Most of the time, my rigs end up sitting on the shelf because there’s nobody around to run with. What are some ways you guys keep things fun and exciting when bashing alone?

The universe is so cruel...

Came across this amazing deal on FBMP. Chatted with the seller and he was going to throw in 4 2s gens ace batteries, original motor and esc, and max 10 combo. Great deal right? I thought so too! So > started my drive to the bank. On my way, truck in front of me swerved to avoid something in the road, but I didn't see it soon enough. Put a small hole in the front tire and lifted the object vertical to blow out my rear. So instead of getting a new toy and a bunch of goodies for 200, I get to use that plus a bunch to get new rubbers for my big boy car! The universe has such a cruel way of sending messages...

My First RC Trucks in 30 years.

Well, after 30 years of absence I bought 2 new vehicles to hobby again. The last RC I bought was in the late 90's & let me just say these new ones are next level. I am blow away at the size of this big beast, but I also got this little guy so I could try different sizes. I'm looking forward to running these tomorrow.

It lives!!!!!

A few weeks back, I had the privilege to pick up this Nitro RS 4 3EVO from a fellow Redditor. After a bit of cleaning, parts and patience, today it lives again. I was not able to fill the small run, but I was able to capture the first start and idle.

Dings and cell casing lifting on a new unused LiPo

These zees I bought have some surface dings and the per cell casing looks to be lifting a bit, are they okay to use, they didn’t heat when charging and I plan to put a 3d printed hard case on them if that is relevant
