Carnage by name, carnage by nature. 😑
After months of hard bashing, jumps, flips, it was finally taken out by a tiny concrete post.
I’m actually blown away by how much damage such an uneventful crash that on the surface looked like a little bump.
As I walked closer I though “oh bugger I must have broke an arm” and then almost cried when I seen it was SNAPPED IN HALF. 😑
I love this little old car, to repair or replace?
Has anyone ever separated a radio so one person could control steering and the other throttle.
My little girl loves dad’s RC’s but it’s hard to let her just go at it without constantly getting stuck or flipped over. Maybe a sort of training remote exists?
My kid had her first crash fresh sesh today!
Losi mini 8ight on a 2s battery. Still waiting on parts to rebuild the non functional front differential, but today was a milestone.
Looking for Introductory RC
Hey all. Apologies if this sort of post isn’t welcome here. I’m looking for an introductory RC buggy/truck to mess around with. Ideally something that can go off-road as it would mostly likely get used in my hilly, grassy backyard. I grew up with a Tyco Eliminator and Tyco Rebound and would love to have something along those lines.
Thanks!
EDIT: Thanks for the warm reception. I saw a few replies asking for a budget and to be honest - I don’t really know. Considering how prices are a mess in every hobby these days, let’s say ideally no more than $400US?
Transmitter issue
Husband just got this and the transmitter isn't connecting, only gets a quick flash of red light. Brand new everything. Any ideas on why and how to fix it?
Today, I worked on the headlights.
Some people say it’s useless, and some even call it AI slop.
But I’m just building what I want to build.
Revived my M-03 Mini Cooper yesterday
It’s been sitting without anything for power for over a decade, plus the transmission, bearings, and left inner hinge pins were a bit gummed up from a grease I had in the diff that leaked out at some point. I had bought a new set
Of reinforced transmission gears about 14 years ago and planned on swapping those in while doing this rebuild, then discovered I had the light weight hollow shafts and Titanium coated hinge pins that I also bought around the same time and forgot about. Got all that installed, freshened up the shock oil while I was at it.
It already had the HPI Mini body and tires on newer BMW Mini wheels, M-05 uprights and carriers, Kimbrough servo saver, Traxxas rod ends and Teflon coated hollow balls with Associated Ti tie rods for steering, then the red TC shocks built with the sedan length in the front and Mini length in back using 50wt oil and medium springs up front and 60wt oil and firm springs out back.
Still have a little work to do and may have to order a new pack as it’s slightly puffed right now.
First time designing and printing a rc car
I started this project because I had a lot of leftover parts I wanted to use and I managed to make this in around 1 week and use only leftover parts. The overall print time is around 100 hours and the weight is around 1kg which I would say is pretty good for a 850mm long RC car. The cool thing is that it's almost 100% 3D printed with only the fasteners, shaft, and electronics not being printed. According to estimate based on the motors rpm I should reach 40-50mph which is probably pretty likely since I have a 2x reduction gear

Original content btw, haha.
Which controller do you use with you car and why?
Hello!
I'm quite a newbie in the hobby and use stock controllers with my cars.
It's inconvenient because I have too many controllers now.
Which one do you use and what else do you get with that?
I read that the FlySky Noble is the king, isn't it?
What about dumbo rc?
I have MJX cars and Arrma, would it work with them?
Best Monster Trucks for kids and easy to repair
Hey guys, newbie to the sub but not RCs. It's been a long time since I built one, but my kids are getting into it. Specifically monster trucks. Read the wiki but didn't see what I was looking for. Growing up, my neighbor had an old school Bigfoot that could pull us around in our wagon. It was a straight up tank. I'd like to get something similar for them to play with. My boys, however, can be rough on toys. So I'm looking for something that has readily available parts, or 3d printed options. They're going to be repairing as much as they are driving. I'd like to stay under 200 if possible, but I'm flexible to get what's going to be best. Might have to get a pair, so definitely looking for interchangeable parts. Thanks everyone!
Is the RLAARLO Omni Terminator still the best value RC basher in the market?
reddit.comGood entry level drifting car?
Was looking for something not too expensive but also not cheap enough that it’s gonna be garbage after a handful of uses. Appreciate any input!
OG Traxxas Rustler, replaced motor with a Traxxas 550 but the shaft is too long?
I had a reedy Radon 12t that I thought burned out, so I bought Traxxas 550 motor but the shaft is too long and the pinion gear doesn't slide down more. What am I doing wrong? I also figured it in the brushes on the reedy wore down but that's a different issue now.
Brushed motors are slow
I see people that weren't around in the brushed days say this frequently. Well, here's a Trinity Revenge of the Monster stock motor right out of the package in a box stock TT-02R with 6.5:1 ratio on 2S clocking 40 mph. Aka the same speed a modern brushless touring car does on 2S out of the box. This is a 27 turn machine-wound bushing motor from 2001 lol. My modified motors are significantly more powerful than this.
Rattling coming from esc fan
Hello; I ran my rc car in sand yesterday, and since then, this strange rattling is coming from tge esc fan. I think sand is stuck and I tried EVERYTHING to get it out, but it wont change. And the esc design is shitty, I cannot remove the fan at all, its glued together. Does anyone have advices or a technique on how to stop this ?
