Whats everyone's thoughts on MIP?

Just got MIP drivers, plus an electric screwdriver by Wiha.

Whats everyone's thoughts and experiences with MIP?

Overrated? Over priced? Dogs bollocks?

EDIT: Just wanted to say. I'm not new to the hobby or to tools in general (worked as a mechanic, welder blah blah). But MIP seems like the snap on of the RC world. I've compared the tolerances between MIP, Wera and Wiha. its clear by feel alone that MIP has a tighter fit, sharper corners etc. Thats surprising as Wera is known for good tolerances. But actually I started to chew the heads on some fastners when building my VS4-10. Soon as I saw that, I thought "fuck it. I'll get MIP". I'll use them tomorrow and see how good they really are. Definitely nice handles and surprising light weight

Thought I'd share some stuff of the Savage XL kit I got. First time getting fancy servos

By fancy I mean expensive. I've had PowerHD before but their cheaper servos for crawlers and your cheap ebay stuff.

But since its my first kit and a new nitro I thought I'd get what I want.

Supposedly Perfect Pass are good so I'm trying them out.

Of course the F150 body as its a Savage!! I might do a Big Foot style build but I'm not sure. Definitely looking forward to that Hobao engine being in it. Looks the part.

Just arrived. Finally bit the bullet.

Edit: never had a new nitro before or a kit. Have wanted a new savage for about 15 years. Pretty awesome!

Post your favourite axe to use and why

This is mine. Plumb double bit, about 2Kg including the Ash handle. Light, nimble and splits pretty well. 28" handle if I remember right.

Just feels great.

Post your favourite axe to use!!

Has anyone tried this style of rack? For work/ ladders. 2005 sprinter

A bit sceptical is this will be hardy enough and clamp properly. If anyone knows of good cheap racks please say. Contemplating making my own.

It survived despite what everyone said. Earned a place in my van

Sometimes redneck shut works. Uprooted a couple of tree stumps as intended. Shorter handle worked great (still 35" total)

Post the biggest hammer you own/ use.

This is mine. Unsure of the weight but is usable with one hand (just).

Update: old Ewell got a quick and dirty handle

Had to rush this as I need it for a job in a,few days. Only needs to last that job.

Started on a better handle then split it by accident (totally my fault). So crudely made this.

Fat, rough and ready to work....

Help. Loncin 196cc vs Briggs 850PXi OVH (more in description)

Hi, needing some advice. I'm buying a new mower for professional use (Oleo Mac LUX 55 TBI). Its advertised as coming with a Briggs 850 engine which is fine. But the dealer said I can have the Loncin engine for £300 cheaper.

The Oleo Mac dealer even recommended them over the Briggs.

Whats peoples long term experience with Loncin engines? Any help is appreciated.

(I used to work as a small plant mechanic so I'm very familiar with Briggs but still on the fence about Chinese companies)

Curious: how many people actually make handles from scratch?

Wondering how many people here actually make handles from scratch. Like a blank/ board of wood. Not a generic handle that's 98% done and you just make it fit.

For those of you that do, how do you go about doing it?

Be nice to discuss different methods. I make all my handle myself (if I have time).

Advise on finding an engine for this kit?

I'd like to build this as my first kit. But finding nitro engines doesn't seem to be that easy, especially bigger CC. Most places are out of stock on LRP, OS or SH engines .32 or bigger.

If I want an XL, it makes sense to have an XL engine haha.

Any advise on sourcing big block engines? (UK)

Hi, looking for advice. First time buyer (UK). Read description

Hi, so I have a couple of questions. As this type of boot isn't common at all in the UK especially for work.

I currently have a Red Wing 2218 steel toe logger boot. I bought it to ease into this style of work wear. After wearing them for awhile its clear the boot is a bit too big, the leather has worn away around the steel toe, outer sole starting to separate. In other words, not worth the money In my opinion. Only bought them in November.

So my main two questions are. 1) how hard are non safety toe boots compared to safety toe?

I see a lot of people in the USA/ CA don't see the need. Here in the UK lots of people use safety toe even if not needed. I'm a bit of a stickler for it but if a non safety toe boot has really hard leather, then I guess I can budge.

  1. how does sizing compare to Red wings? Or how does Whites compare to Nicks, etc etc.

Lastly. I work as a gardener/ landscaper. The UK climate is wet and mild mostly. I kneel down a lot so toes take a lot of wear.

Also, I was interested in Whites Longliner boot or the new Buckin special.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you
