White's & Rose Anvil Sundance, Blood Core

About 7 months of wear. The latigo leather is a treat. Rolls started coming quickly after about 3-4 days of wear, and have just kept conforming to my feet. Still lots of break-in left, but they are so much easier to get on and off now.

So happy with them, I just bought another pair in Cinnamon Waxed Flesh with the recent re-release of the collaboration.

White’s MP Sherman

These half lug MP Sherman in brown chromexcel arrived a week ago. Pleasantly surprised to have only waited 4 weeks.

They’re quite the upgrade from my Iron Rangers and the AE Normandy. I’ve worn them for ~5 full days so far- the break in has been very smooth. Slight heel slip the first few days, but it has meaningfully reduced.

I’m a 9.5 Brannock. White’s sizing tool and standard guidance were in dissonance: the tool recommended 8.5 based on foot length, but their standard guidance is a half size down. I rolled the dice on a 9D after calling customer service and they fit perfectly. I love them.

Week 3+4 Before & After

After 89,972 steps (177,272 total) these Nicks are cleaned and ready for the next work week!

BuilderPro HD

Last: 55

Length: 9.0

Width: D

Leather: MaxSupport Black

Style: Smooth/Roughout

Height: 8"

Outsole: Honey Vibram

Heal: Logger

Toe: Composite

For those new here, these are my first pair of Nicks Boots. I work in a very harsh environment, a concrete recycling landfill, where I walk on rubble and concrete chunks for 9+ hours a day. I document my journey giving before and after pics from worked boots to cleaned boots.

Today's post is a light cleaning, no soap or conditioner, just nylon & horsehair brushes, warm water, and a rag. Next time I perform a deep cleaning, I will show all the products used.

Hope y'all continue to enjoy this journey with me and know that I do read and appreciate all the comments I receive!

White boots resole

Just wanted to give Whites Boots customer service some appreciation. I wore these chore boots for the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome this past year. Early on the sole started delaminating from the midsole. (I spend an inordinate amount of time kneeling on concrete at work, so this has happened with every boot I’ve ever had. That or I wear through the welt itself. If someone has a solution I’m all ears) Anyway I just glued the sole back to the welt with some shoe goo and kept on doming. My temporary fix worked for a couple months, but then I’d have to regoo. The last time the goo gave up the ghost I finally contacted Whites about it. They emailed me a return label and told me to mail the boots back. 2 weeks later I’ve got freshly resoled boots. New laces, new insoles. No charge. They look and feel great. Thanks Whites!

Nicks V2 602 Parkhurst Last Italian Brown Cypress 9D $400

OK, we are coming into the last few pairs of my 2026 closet clean out . In today’s post I have for sale a pair of Nicks Parkhurst last in Italian Brown Cypress Size 9D. These are in excellent condition. I would say nine out of 10. The only reason whythey’re not a 10 is there’s some slight creasing on the vamp near the toes. Other than that the soles are perfect and there very little heel drag. As many of you know, I’ve been selling a lot of boots on this sub so I have references of members here and in the WESCO sub that I will provide to you upon request. PayPal only, USA buyers only please. Shipped signature required. Please know your size as I do not accept returns..Asking $400

For Sale: Wesco Mr Lou Black Horsehide 9E

Hey y’all, looking to sell these Black Horsehide Wesco Mr Lou’s purchased through Baker’s Boots about three weeks ago. Unfortunately I have to admit that 9E is too short for me, have been bunching my toes against the front of the boot. Not broken in at all, basically brand new.

This size is sold out at Bakers, and since they’re brand new I’m looking for $700 CONUS shipping included.

We have arrived

The Nick's with a sprung toe classic arch that 67 baby. I think it is clear my standard go to boot choice for all things work, is a basic hard wearing fire boot (not necessarily a fire rated boot, but these are what's available to me to shop locally from boot shops that have treated me with good service). Here's the old ones cleaned mostly and oiled up, and the new ones after a couple days of wear. Some people think it's excessive to have two pairs, and to spend as much money and time figuring out what generally works in all applications of your specific work needs, but I think I spent all this time so that finally, and hopefully, I don't have to think as much about boots, and can just beat them to death now. They are costly, and I wish they weren't, but what ya gonna do.

FBF- 3” Roughshot Cinnamon Stick

This is personal favorite way of doing boots with shorts. I would prefer to wear them with lower socks but after wearing 8” boots everyday to work there’s no hair left below my sock line. I think the 3” boots are severely underrated. These have become my favorites and the ones I reach for every chance I get. If you’re wearing pants they don’t look any different than a 6” or 8”, and they’re easier to pull off with shorts to me. They’re definitely cooler than my 8” in this hot ass weather we’re having. If you’ve never tried the 3” I recommend giving them a shot. Not to mention the break in is a breeze and you definitely don’t have to worry about “white’s bite”. 😆

3” Roughshot Cinnamon Stick MTO
T55 moderate block heel
Honey Vibram soles

Waterproof PNW Boot?

Hi! New to PNW boots. But I like boots and live in the PNW, a couple hours drive from the makers’ locations, so I guess I should learn about them!

What 8-10”PNW boot is the most waterproof? And how waterproof is that going to be? Are we talking working in the rain, working in the rain on a puddly jobsite, working in the rain in a muddy flooded trench, etc?

Similarly, what 8-10” PNW is the warmest? How warm is that? 40F and rain, 30F and freezing rain, 20F and tramping through snow for hours, etc?

Would be coming from Goretex and Thinsulate lined Danner work and hunting boots.

My Whites Semi Dress, about 5 months in

I love these! They’re really beginning to feel like mine now with some miles under them. I had mistakenly ordered an E width and those were too much, these are D’s and they’re way better. Easy to wear and super versatile and just perfect (for me). Now that they’re breaking in I find myself wearing a lot of my other pairs less and less. I’m sure things will cycle around again but I could be fine with these as my one and only 😊

Long time viewer first time buyer?

So Im a welder looking for a new pair of boots. Ive been watching Carl Murawski, Wranglerstar, and Rose Anvil for a while. Im coming from throrogood wedge soles and looking at a custom fire sole super duty from JK. How do similar options from Nick's, Whites, Wesco, etc... compare? First pair of PNW boots and im really excited just not entirely sure where to start. I hear JK have the easiest break in. How comfortable are they compared to wedge soles? The wedges are great for shop work but they melt and theyre not cutting in the field. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!
