Opinions please

Do you think this is acceptable for a wedding reception? the boot maker messed up and I wanted the outsole double welt stitching to be black but he used a light brown instead I am now considering dying it black

NBD - Wesco Mister Lou

It feels like I’m the last one to get a pair out of this recent batch of Wickett & Craig Oiled Latigo Tan Wesco Mister Lou Engineer Boots. The first half of Baker’s stocking shipment contained the smaller sizes, so I had to wait on these 12E’s to arrive. Boy were they worth the wait. These things are so oily and beautiful. All my other Lous are Horsebutt or Horsehide. This veg tan W&C leather has a much stiffer temper than the others, but I’ve seen pics of these fully broken in, and they just get better with age.

It was also a good day because my new 22oz Skinner American Goods Japanese Selvedge Denim jeans arrived. They fit like a glove, but 22oz ain’t no joke. I can’t wait to see the awesome fades these have in them for the future. Can’t wait!

NBD

Picked these up from the Baker’s Final Few sale. They’re my first pair of Frank’s and I could not be more impressed. Right out of the box, the fit and finish is impeccable and the leather feels amazing. I’m very happy to have snagged these and can’t wait to put some wear on them.

Specs:

Frank’s Wilshire

Brown Double Shot
Soft toe

Is there a Tuff Toe equivalent for rubber soles?

Basically the title. I don’t use Tuff Toe for my work boots because I don’t need to, but I’d love Tuff Sole to exist.

I’m a blacksmith and my shop floor is concrete covered in a mixture of abrasive dust, steel particles of all sizes, forge scale, sand, and borax.

I am currently wearing White’s Millwood 6” boots with the “hybrid wedge” sole.

It’s holding up great, all things considered, but if there was a coating that would give me more time between resolings I would use it.

Anything like that exist? A product, an old timey mixture of poisonous compounds, an alternative? I’d love to hear it if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks for reading, I hope you all have a great day.

For Sale: White's Helitack 10.5E (Factory Seconds) $350USD+shipping

Hey everyone, I'm looking to rehouse these White's Helitack that I picked up off of the last seconds sale they had. I'd be wearing them more, but I've practically been living in my Franks highlanders that I got around the same time. They're Seconds, so obviously some cosmetic flaws that I tried my best to picture, but nothing compromising the integrity of the boot. I'm just looking to make my money back, so they're yours for the same price I bought them, plus your preferred shipping method. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them! Happy trails, folks!

Rate my collection! All freshly cleaned! I think it’s complete, every condition has its own tool, but what am I missing? (my actual workbooks not included: CAT second shift steel toe)

Franks Groundpounder LTT MTO. Nightshade Bison.

New pair of Boots from Frank’s. I’m only going to wear these to work as honestly I’m not man enough to wear them out in public. The guys at work are going to get a kick out of them.

Specs:
HNW last, 11.5D, 7 inch height, brown rolled top, brown tongue, antique hardware, brown upper stitching, LTT, soft toe, white outsole stitching, brown edge finish, brown Vibram wedge, all roughout with smooth backstay.

Real happy with how they turned out.

What do we think of the sizing

1 Month old Franks Rainier in Mocha work leather.

They are amazing boots, I think they fit good, zero break in, easily some of the most comfortable footwear I’ve ever had the pleasure of having.

My only complaint is that they sent me a 9F pair after our try on boot phone call. I said the 9EE fit me perfectly, he asked if I was going to use insoles, I said yes-green spenco ones.

We never discussed going up in width, when I received them, I called and they said they made the F width because of the insoles.

They were a little loose, especially now that they’ve stretched a little. That’s why I added the veg tan insole, fit much nicer now but I wish they would have been size 9EE. Problem is the 9EE fit so well that I ordered another pair on the spot. Now I have (2) pairs of 9F 😑

Dropped by White's today to get measured and order some boots and couldn't help but marvel at these.

Franks patriots size 11.5E $250

If anyone is interested I have these patriots I bought a few months ago. The length is perfect and the width is good but I have high volume feet and a high instep so they’re really tight by the ankle. I wore them for an about 4 separate 8 hour shifts. Disclaimer, the left boot has a squeak when walking in them. I also have a 12.5D brannock.

Help me decide which Rose Anvil kitlie for Red Dog Drifters

Rose Anvil is having a scratch and dent sale on their leather items. I am trying to decide which leather would look good on my Drifter 1s. The red bison is sold out unfortunately. I was leaning towards the light brown but idk. I really like the Rose Anvil no show kilties.

Doc Steelies? Doc Steelington? Or plain ol Steel Toe Doc Wellington

Model: BYO Wellington
Last: 55
Size: 11.5EE
Heel: Classic Stack Dogger
Leather: 1964 Ash Grey
Edge: Natural
Sole: 430 Mini
Extras: Side Pulls, Steel Toe

Thank you to u/BigStetson for helping with this build!
Ordered these specifically for work (pressure vessel/piping/welding inspector) so I spend a lot of time at the desk and in the field. I ordered these specifically when I need to throw on a pair of steel toes to go down to the shop in a hurry.
These boots are awesome. Tight getting on but once on, a great fit ( I should have got a boot jack to get them off 🤣). These are almost too nice for work, but I gotta do what I gotta do. This 64 leather is a great alternative to the work leather, gives a couple more color options and still just as stiff and thick. The lasting and sewing quality is perfect, I can’t find a thing wrong with them. The side pull request was a must with these and gives them a short cowboy look. To everyone that slept on the Ash grey, sorry you missed out, if it pops up again bdon’t sleep on it! Charlie the doodle approved as well
