NBD! IR’s and Sagara Cordmaster’s

Well… Happy new boot day for me. I picked up the iron Ranger in the copper rough and tough as a factory second a couple weeks ago. They got abrasions on the heel and what not, but I’m not worried. They’re gonna be yard and work boots so that’s just fine.

The Sagara Cordmasters in Maryam overdied oxblood arrived today and all I can say is they are stunning. The finishing is amazing. The color is outstanding. I love the chunky look. And half sole just cap it all off. I think these might be my Patina Project competition boot this year. Although, it will kill me not to wear them until then. These are some amazingly beautiful… Beautiful… Boots.

Red dog

I’m hoping Whites come out with some more bold color ways for the C350LTTs soon. Really love these boots

A lot happened in the last couple of years

My baby girl in the left pic passed away. Now I'm raising my knucklehead baby boy in the right pic (he takes after me).

Boots are Wesco Mister Lou in Maryam natural horsebutt. Not visible in the pic, but the vamps darkened a lot more than the shafts which were shielded from the sun by my pants legs.

BOTD Custom 8” White’s Original Packer from Baker’s Boots

Today’s BOTD is a custom pair of 8” White’s Original Packer in Horween Burgundy Chromexcel Horsehide with toe-bug, double leather soles, and built on the 690 last ordered from Baker's Boots and Clothing. I’ve got boots in a dozen different lasts, but the 690 is my favorite of them all. The 690 has a very aggressive arch with a higher heel than most of my other PNW boots. This last just agrees with my feet and puts a smile on my face every time I wear a pair.

Franks Highlanders 3 month Update

Today marks three months of nearly constant wear M-F and a 14 day fire assignment. Pretty happy with my decision to go with Franks. Went with a stock size and custom build based on my Whites. Dealt with some bite over the ankle but fiddling around with the tongue and false tongue solved that I think. Previous boots are Whites Smokejumpers and Bakers Fireline (built by whites). Both were and still are fantastic boots and I’ll probably have the whites rebuilt for a second time this winter.

Might be my favorite boots!

These and my nd3s are I think tied for my favorite boots. I do have the Bloodcore tankers coming soon so that might be up there too. I think I’m done buying boots for awhile. Need to build money back up after my emergency surgery.

Help With White’s Boots Size

Hey guys, I’m sure this question has been asked to death, but this is my first pair of nice boots, so I’d love a little guidance. I want to order a pair of White’s C350 Chelsea shown above for work. I’ve never actually measured my foot before until now, and I’m not exactly sure what I’m looking at on this measuring device (also pictured above), besides what my length is. In sneakers, a 12 seems to do me just fine. Recently I had purchased a pair of LL Bean rain boots and had to size down to an 11 for them to fit correctly. On White’s website, I followed their sizing guide and measured my foot at home to be ~ 11.5 inches long on both feet and ~ 10.25 inches wide. When I plug those numbers into their online chart, it comes up with exactly a size 11.5 and a D width. Is this chart accurate? Am I okay to go ahead and order an 11.5 D or should I size down?

Thank you all. Any help is much appreciated!

BOTD 10” Custom LTT White’s Bounty Hunter from Baker’s Boots

These are a custom 10” LTT White’s Bounty Hunter in Horween Cinnamon Waxed Flesh, leather lined interior, inside Lineman’s Flap, and built on the 55 Last.

I grabbed these a few months back from Baker’s “Final Few” closeout sale. I almost never find an 11.5E in any of these types of sales. This is definitely a boot I would’ve ordered for myself, so it was a no brainer to pull the trigger on this pair for over $200 off regular price.

White’s Arrived!

Found a pair of preowned White’s 8” Farmers boots. I was initially worried a 12E was not a good matching since the usual is a 13D.

They feel great! Might be able to go with a 12D with lighter socks but we will see. 🤤🤤🤤

NBD!

Nicks Urban Logger®

A mix of pictures in daylight and overcast as the color of the Pacific Waxed Flesh looks different in varying light conditions, a very cool detail of this leather. I did replace the original laces with all-black leather laces.

I have been looking forward to getting these and love the way they turned out.

Week 2+3 Before & After

After 113,821 steps (167,309 total) these Nicks are cleaned and ready for the next work week! BuilderPro HD Last: 55 Length: 9.0 Width: D Leather: 1964 Brown Style: Smooth Height: 10" Outsole: V100 Lug Sole Heal: Logger Toe: Composite For those new here, I document my maintenance journey with my Nicks Boots. I work in a very harsh environment, a concrete recycling landfill, where I walk on rubble and concrete chunks for 9+ hours a day. I show before and after pics from worked to cleaned boots, and will compare how these boots hold up to my first pair of Nicks. The main differences between the two are MaxSupport Black v 1964 Brown Leather, Roughout v Smooth, 8" v 10" and Honey Vibram v V100 Lug Soles. So far, the smooth leather is showing a lot more scuffs and character than my black roughouts, but still cleaning up nicely! I hope y'all enjoy this journey with me!

I wanted PNW boots and these were on my path so I got them

Always liked PNW style boots, rugged, overbuilt, that American iconic silhouette...I wanted one....but...

Naturally, I was looking at fantastic trio... Nicks, Whites and Franks.

A lot of things have to be aligned because it is not an easy task to get them when you live in non-native environment for this kind of product (especially Serbia).

You have to do a proper research of the lasts and sizing to nail your fit, be prepared for the investment, process and accept in your mind the wait time for the boots to be made... shipping to my country is not standard and usual offering...

So... I tried to approach this subject with more relaxed tone and ended up looking at Drews Contractor boots that "drew" my attention 😄

They looked intriguing, off the shelf with no wait time and they were on sale...everything just clicked and I pulled the trigger and rest of the steps were pretty straightforward process.

I tried to tone down my expectations and was preparing myself for eventual disappointment.

Eventually boots arrived ...and what a pleasant surprise...heavy, beefy, robust, well made...and smell incredible... unboxing was quite an sensation experience.

Boots are made in Mexico....and Drews are implementing all PNW design and construction principles in the build with US sourced components - thick work leather, all leather components-heel counter, shank, leather structured toe, styling, hardware.....

Some specifics of Drews approach in regard to 55 last makes a significant difference to me and slight departure from standard PNW 55 last offerings - use of modified 55-1 last which is more in my "ball park" zone - wider toe box, roomy instep, pre molded insole.....

Those modifications alone were unintentionally exact sweet spot why these boots fits my feet so well (I have done a ton of research for Drews sizing and fit prior to purchase).

I am so glad that I got these boots and I am wearing them frequently and enjoying for more than a year and I AM VERY HAPPY !!!!!!!!!!
